A couple were just jailed for a similar offence and they got 7 years, probably out in 3

I think it was just left in real cold weather.

This is what I don’t understand either. Allegedly their first child was removed from their care (and quite rightly so) so you’d think from experience they’d realise they weren’t capable parents. But allegedly they are both addicts so I suppose logical thinking cannot be applied to the case.
