Really .. they were both unified , undefeated champions and on an equal footing but Taylor has more financial clout so she was able to bully through a rematch clause that only SHE can invoke ..

I’d say it was very similar to what Davis did .. remember if Taylor had won and taken all Cameron’s belts the poor girl wouldn’t get the chance to win her belts back .. whereas Taylor CAN invoke the rematch clause and gets a second chance to pinch Cameron’s belts

How is that fair ?

They should be arrested for that. Pure criminals.

Alf 21-05-2023 10:06 PM

I bet those people serving that pint at 7 euros and 60, were not far off making 7 euros and 60 for an hours work. And I bet they sold hundreds of pints an hour. I bet the servers were mainly foreign speaking, being taken advantage of?

Cheap labour while ripping off the public.

People need to take back control by boycotting these events until they become human friendly.

Tbf, everyone who served me was Irish and there's a minimum wage of €11.30 here

Well that's rare, because whenever I go to events at arean's or stadiums, even at my local Rugby team, the barstaff are always foreign speaking or young student types. I'd wager that they're all earning peanuts while the arenas are ripping off the public and raking it in.

So she put up a respectable fight considering.

Tbf if Cameron truly deserves the belts she'd win the rematch as well.

You have to go through one of those metal detecter things like they have at airport and the also had an x Ray machine thingy that you had to put bags or jackets etc through (eventhough they had sent out an email saying no bags of any size allowed in) so no I didn't get searched but had to go through that

The difference is that Cameron wants to move down to Taylor’s weight class and compete for Taylor’s belts ..

Is Taylor brave enough to risk fighting for her own belts :)

It was much easier to have the excuse of “well I moved up a weight” and not have to worry about losing her belts ..

I have a already explained that I got lured in to the bout as it was so heavily advertised..

Guess they all expected Taylor to win either convincingly or with a bit of help from the scorecards..

As you said I haven’t been too interested in women’s boxing and so I was amazed to learn that Taylor has been on the right side of a couple of dubious decisions of late .. but because of the Josh Taylor v Catterall debacle and subsequent investigations this time the scorecards were absolutely spot on ..

Just a shame the same can’t be said for the Loma who was robbed in his fight with Haney ..

You weren't interested in women's boxing but you've taken a dislike to Katie so decided to look for negative press about her, there's plenty of positive press about her but you're not interested in that for some reason. So lets talk about those couple of "dubious decisions", shall we? Have you watched those fights for yourself by the way before you decided she definitely lost those fights? because I have. So the first one was against Delfine Persoon, it was a close fight, Delfine is a brawler, totally different fighter to Katie, Katie won on points, it was a very close fight, some people thought Delfine should have won and some didn't, regardless what did Katie do when people said she should have lost? Did she shy away? Nope, she gave her the rematch and she beat her again (and Delfine herself in her post fight interview said she knew Katie had beaten her) the second fight that people say was a controversial win was against Amanda Serrano (again I don't know if you watched that fight but to say that was a robbery is just plain wrong, was it close? yes but Katie won more rounds) So did Katie run away from fighting Amanda again? Nope in fact she was supposed to have been Katies opponent instead of Chantelle in Dublin but she didn't take it.

What I don't like is this implication you're making that Katie isn't an honourable person and takes easy fights or runs from challenges which is just not true, Saturday was her very first time fighting in Ireland since she turned professional, it was massive deal for her, she could have taken an easier fight to make sure she won in front of a home crowd but she didn't, she lost fair and square but you're still making a deal about her for whatever reason. Katie Taylor has done so much for women's boxing (maybe that's why you don't like her) She was instrumental in getting women's boxing legalised in Ireland and getting it into the Olympics, she's an Olympic Gold winner and every opponent she's fought states how grateful they are to her for her part in pushing forward women's boxing and how much they respect her. She's an inoffensive, respectful and humble person.

Oh and also, Katie herself was on the receiving end of a dubious decision in the Olympics, that was a proper dubious decision, that time when all the Russians mysteriously won their fights- see also Michael Conlon from the same Olympics

The Olympic decision was before she became the women’s boxing cash cow ..

Maybe you are being a tad defensive / over protective .. I’ve explained my reasoning in great detail.

You were doubting that she was the only one with a rematch clause until I searched out the flamin’ video as proof ..

There is plenty of info as regards her dodgy scorecards online but I’m not gonna waste any more time on it .

I was happy to leave this matter alone but a couple of you prodded me .. with smart ** comments ..

That's one guys opinion on the fight and REGARDLESS like I said she gave her a rematch and she beat her again, here's Delfine after the fight (from 1:45)
