Wonderful, uplifting and joyous concert. I think seeing it outside, on the big screens with crowds of people (especially when darkness fell) made it even more special. The atmosphere was fantastic.
Loved William’s speech, the King looked really touched, and I had to smile - a big group of young girls started screaming and swooning when he came on “OMG, OMG WILLIAM!” etc. :hee: It was great seeing Mike and Zara, Edward and Sophie and Peter Phillips bopping along….and getting shots of the adorableness of George and Charlotte enjoying themselves. Favs of the night - The Royal combo doing Romeo and Juliet, Andre Bocelli, Lionel, Katy Perry, Take That. Loved it! |
Just fast forwarded through this concert ..
The most impressive thing was probably the LIGHTING EFFECTS on the stages and the palace .. Lionel Richie sounded decent enough .. I didn’t think he was miming ( think someone referred to that earlier ) . Katy Perry looked better than her voice sounded .. two great songs but her voice seemed strained . Take That .. again great song choices but their voices were weak .. has Mark Owen been poorly ?? Olly Murs sounded good but I’ve no idea why he chose that mediocre song unless it’s his new release ? the staging was brilliant

i've only seen snippets. The lighting was good, but the performances seemed a bit flat
