I’m currently watching the one where he’s handcuffed in Rachel’s boss’ office. One of my favourite Chandler moments it still makes me laugh when I watch it.

He was so good in Friends. Definitely my favourite there.

Apparently it can be used to treat depression, which he very openly struggled with

It's a very widely used drug recreationally but combining it with going in a massive hot tub is a terrible idea

bots 16-12-2023 10:58 AM

He rode his luck for decades and it eventually caught up with him. That's the reality

It’s so sad that so many people who on the face of it have the world at their feet end up taking or ruining their lives

Feel gutted hearing this. Matthew Perry has always been open talking about his struggles with addiction and he apparently was receiving ketamine infusion therapy to treat his depression but they found high levels in his system so he must’ve decided to use it recreationally.

Regardless of what’s happened it hasn’t tainted my view of him. He was a brilliant actor and always seemed to be quite a genuine, funny and grounded person in real life. It’s sad that he had so many struggles throughout his life but he bought a lot of joy and happiness to so many people who watched Friends, including myself.

RIP

Cocain and ketamine (you'll hear them call it Ket or "K") are very, very commonly used by UK teens/20-somethings as recreational drugs these days. It's quite alarming. They talk about it as casually as we talked about weed in my day . Then again there was also heavy MDMA use in my day which there seems to be a bit less of these days.

But yes, as above it can also be prescribed.

It sounds like he was probably using it off-prescription in this case, though. And yeah ketamine + a heart problem + a hot tub dilating the blood vessels... are not a good recipe.

People took ket a lot when I was younger....it came after E's when people want more of a downer than an upper. From what I hear now from younger friends MDMA is still popular....but it's more pure than Ectasy was.

It's strange but some people are fit as fiddles in their late 70s, even running marathons.

I had a notification on my phone it's 7 years since George Michael died at just 53. I looked up what he died of and he had so many health problems, from heart ailments to other diseases. He was worn out at 53.

George Michael was on GHB constantly and smoking both crystal meth and crack. It would have been more surprising if his heart WASN'T absolutely ****ed at 53.

I have a friend who's son is addicted to Kettamine, he regularly vomits - in bath (disgusting) and is then writhing on the floor doubled up and screaming in pain, his life is a real mess its awful stuff.

Terrible stuff, lots of young people losing bladder control because of it as well

I dabbled a couple of times and really didn't see the fuss, I just found it pretty horrible to barely be able to walk properly
