The majority of the 300 protesters that were arrested at Columbia University last night were not students

Alf 01-05-2024 04:34 PM

Well it's a crime what's happening. It's trespass, they're stopping people that have paid for an education from receiving that education. That's fraud in itself.

Club them over the heads, they need it and you have the majorities blessing.

This isn't what the people need. It's just a smoke-screen whilst the people with money and power are facilitating an invasion.

"Look here, don't look there"

They want us little people fighting wars. They always have.

The Don is one of us. That's why they hate him, and are trying everything to take him down.

Alf 01-05-2024 04:52 PM

It's not Trump they want. It's us. He's just standing in their way.

He'll win too. I know that, don't worry. He'll go down in history as one of the greats if not the greatest of our time.

Just remember, I was on his side from the start and never stopped believing, and continued to promote him at all times.

Alf 01-05-2024 05:16 PM

They try to tell you that Trump is the facsist, whilst they try to put their political opponent (Trump) in prison.

Yet some people believe everything the rich and powerful say.

You do understand that they are the facsists by doing this, right?

Trump told you in 2016.

"I take these slings and arrows gladly for you"

Don't worry, he never lost the last election, the last election was the real insurrection. Trump has it all under control. You just have to wake up and see who the deep state is.

Livia 01-05-2024 05:41 PM

Stopping Jewish student going to lectures is no different from stopping black students in the 60s. I think all the protesting students flying terrorist flags or stopping Jews passing should be ejected from their college immediately.

How many called for the release of Israeli hostages? If that happened there's be a ceasefire tomorrow.

Where was the compassion in 7th October?

Maru 01-05-2024 07:31 PM

They did a good job of putting out in full color display the emotionally manipulative argumentation that surrounds much of the rhetoric that leans pro-Hamas in the West. This only helps Israel in the end, as nothing of significance comes of it other than to show there is no basis for this behavior other than some young people have given themselves away to brainwashing.

Most adults can understand going to war is not black and white. Our family lost a cherished family member amongst others to one of Israel's military "mistakes" which was covered up by the US. That doesn't mean suddenly the US or Israel no longer have a duty to defend their populace. In the end, Israel and Hamas have gone to war and it has nothing to do with college systems, the supply chain of tents, Trumpian politics, gender ideology or the latest bird droppings on Twitter. It has everything to do with what has been happening locally to them and a vast majority have no idea what actually goes on there nor what it is like to live under the precipice of war along the border on either side. These students are delusional if they think their zealotry could ever be remotely on par with a person whose mortal existence is in actual daily question. I feel for both sides but I am not going to pretend I support repeated agitations by a terror group over perceived justifications. It has nothing to do with what happened on October 7th. It's totally fine to support the Palestinian people, their individual rights and hope for a peaceful outcome, but both sides have to work for it. If Israel or Hamas isn't interested in that, then naturally either will lose more support.

As to college students, there is an intellectual rot we will eventually all pay for thanks to the govt subsidizing greedy institutions (and ballooning rates). I get it, $20,000/yr tuition, or whatever it is now, and the college system might genuinely feel compelled to enable these student's belief that they are the exception to those who work hard over the years to achieve real progress. Recent generations generally speaking have said in innumerable ways they wouldn't lift a finger to help real people in need local to them as they have been ingrained to insist it is someone elses job. ie It is much easier to cry and complain what govt must do rather than to do the work themselves or contribute.

Real diplomats don't waste time playing pop-up protester as they can't let any time go to waste as it is too precious. People who rely on inflammatory rhetoric to try to get their way are not interested in diplomacy anyway. It is incredibly narcissistic to think because one reads the news and internet gossip far too regularly that they have a much better grasp on the complexities of international affairs and the human nature involved than those who work on these matters tirelessly in conditions where even a single mistake can be very costly. Having access to articles or clips is not the same as having to work under the pressure of having to make longlasting decisions where lives hang in the balance. My feelings are with the actual affected and those closest to conflict, not people who pretend they are being personally affected somehow.

When did Netanyahu try to save the hostages. The IDF shot three of them that spoke Hebrew and waved a white flag.
Most of Gaza has been turned to dust, killing men, women, children, doctors and the press. They have been deliberately starved, had their water turned off and they've just discovered that patients in al-Aqsa hospital were led outside and executed and buried in a mass grave.

I think its clear to anyone who has been closely following this, understand that the Israeli hostages likely died in the mass bombing and starvation program.
Israeli government used the Hanibal directive on the 7th Oct, so clearly life of their own people is disposable, when they choose.

DemRed 01-05-2024 07:54 PM

@ Maru
All democracies have a right to protest. Take away that right and we take away our democracy. People have always protested wars and up until now, people have accepted this. The problem here is, America, the UK and Germany are funding this war. Our tax money is going straight to Israel, when so many lives now need saving in Gaza.

So what you guys are saying is, we should be good little folk and protect our government and gladly give them our tax money to do their dirty deeds?
When supporters of Mr Trump stormed Congress in January 21, there were a few people on here who hailed them as hero's and now they are saying we should fire water cannons on protestors... such hypocrisy!

Unless we're seriously going to act like that there weren't banners calling for violence against the Jewish community at College Campuses?

Maybe protest in a way which doesn't disrupt the education of others? Why target students?

I have a conspiracy theory that Netanyahu wanted Hamas to do what they did on October 7th, so that he could justify blitzing Gaza.

Obviously I have no proof of this, but it wouldn't shock me if in the decades to come that it gets confirmed to be true.

I support peaceful protests.

January 21st in my view was far from peaceful.

And this whole Israel and Palestine situation is just lacking nuance from both sides, it's being treated like it's two sports teams (who have a fierce rivalry) taking each other on, which I think that some people need to get out of this mindset, and acknowledge where both sides are going wrong.

Especially the people in Israel and Palestine, because if they can't acknowledge their wrongdoings, then there'll never be a solution to what I believe is a 7 decade problem.

That's not at all surprising. When we had potential for "riots" here (We are not rioting types...), suddenly stacks of bricks were stationed near the intended areas perfectly arranged (like off a truck...). You would've thought they were about to do some landscaping  Thankfully nothing came of it, but they did board up some buildings jic. Literally everyone that was picked up was from out of town and we know that for certain, because we saw the arrest records as they were coming in and going out on free bond...

So much of "protesting" is manufactured by third parties and is a racket to generate donations to tax shelters. The US has a social network called "Nextdoor" that can be joined if you sign up with proof of residency and we never see anything anti-public order being arranged on those sites and they're quite popular. One would think politics and such would spill over like it does on FB, but it doesn't (apparently) if accounts are checked and verified.

The vast majority of Republicans just voted for a bill to criminalize criticisms of
the Israeli government. If the bill passes you will be guilty of hate speech if you
“apply double standards” to the government of Israel or accuse it of genocide.

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GMht3Z3W...jpg&name=small

https://x.com/charliekirk11/status/1785822439915889138

Charlie Kirk writes on X: It is patently insane for House Republicans to insert
themselves into the mayhem engulfing college campuses. Do not interrupt
your enemies when they're making a mistake!

Instead of passing anti-free speech laws that trample on the First
Amendment or inserting themselves behind a podium at Columbia, just allow
the left to continue embarrassing itself.

The whole world is watching what the leftwing ideology leads to: Bigoted,
petulant, entitled brats who hate America and demand vegan food drops.

It also leads to feckless leaders like Joe Biden admitting open terrorism
supporters into America for 100,000 "uncommitted" votes in Michigan.

Let red states deal decisively with lawless behvior.

Let the left wallow and writhe.
