I don't get why they felt the need to mock any religion at a sporting event, but I don't really care. |

I remember the '92 Alberville Winter Olympics opening or closing ceremony being very French and weird also.
This one in Paris all felt a bit cheap and small, to be honest. Mainly just dancers and models on a small platform on the river, although the weather didn't help. |

They wouldn't dare imitate any other religion or faith , because they know a huge uproar would happen. |
[QUOTE=GoldHeart;11483612]Non of it had anything to do with sports or the Olympics by looks of it....it was just a cringefest of a joke, but it's always the same easy target religion they mock constantly.

A US telecommunications company, C Spire, said it would be pulling its advertising around
the Olympic Games after being "shocked by the mockery of the Last Supper during the opening ceremonies". Cowards always go for the path of least resistance - ie Christianity |
Can someone tell me what the connection was meant to be with the Olympic Games

How is parodying an Italian masterpiece showing French and Greek history |
They didn’t mock anyone. Plus Nicky is a famous drag queen in France. I think that’s the real issues here is that she was a drag queen with queer people. It’s sad really

I generally thought it was really impressive and ambitious but I didn't like the mocking of the Last Supper. Seems like a very inappropriate statement although I appreciate that France is very proud of it's secularism and all that
