The Reform supporters I've spoken to hold those views.

Now whether that's their own view or what's being planted in their brain by the Reform Party is another matter.
Immigration, or anti immigration is like a mantra to them.

The only abuse we got in the election campaign last year was from Reform canvassers and supporters.
We were called anti British, immigrant lovers, ( not just as illegal migrants either).
Plus even called traitors to the British people.
Which is why I tried to speak with them.
So don't lecture me on the thinking, or real thinking of those supporting Reform.
ANTI immigration is the real only mantra they chant.

Now I had no intention of getting into this debate today because Reform are having their day, for now.
So well done to them on their success as much as I wish it wasn't the case.
I intended to only comment on the results.

My disappointment is too with the Conservatives, under Badenoch she is more encouraging and enabling Reform more than diminishing its profile.
That's sad because I don't want to see the demise of the Cons at all
Yet under Badenoch that will continue.
After today she will not be able to claim that under her, the Conservatives are a real strong opposition to Labour.
Despite how atrocious Labour are acting at this present time.
I've lots of friends in the Conservative Party and I feel really sad for them.

My strong anger too is to the LibDems and the Greens.
Because absolutely Labour with that despicable MP, deserved to lose the by-election and were 90% responsible for Reform able to capitalise and win that seat.
It doesn't matter if it's by 6 votes or 600 votes, it is a spectacular success for Reform on the night and congratulations again to them.

However the LibDems and Greens claim that Reform needs to be stopped.
Yet they both stood in the by-election knowing they hadn't a cat in hell's chance of doing remotely well there.
They took over 3,000 votes there between them.
So much for them really wanting Reform stopped then.

A million people legally last year alone. Ten thousand illegals in the first four months of this year alone. People will not put up with it, it's gone too far. If the Conservatives and/or Labour had done what they promised to do, or even looked like they intended to do something, people would not have been compelled to vote Reform.

You are not my only Labour supporting friend, Joey, and I feel for you because the Labour supporters I know are genuine and feel like Labour is the only choice for our country. But I feel like Labour has let its supporters down. In my opinion, had they done something - anything - positive in their first months in power things might have been different. But instead they've alienated people with Rachel Reeves' disastrous fiscal policy, Illegal migrants, the Farmers, the pensioners... it feels like they're lurching from one bad decision to another.

I didn't want to engage in an immigration issue.
I accept people have got sick of seemingly nothing being really done.
Im not, despite my fury at Starmer and his Cabinet, going to judge them just yet.
Although I concede both the Blair/Brown led government failed on the issue
However so have the 5 different Conservative PMs over 14 years when things got even worse.
I HOPE, and it's perhaps a furlong hope that this lot can turn it around.
However whether they can do so by enough before an election in 2029.
The jury is out on that one
I just hate and detest the rhetoric of Reform on immigration.
Now that's my position and my perspective..
I see them legal or illegal as still human beings.
However that's where I am and why I couldn't support the more prejudicial stance from Reform.

To your second paragraph however, I can agree with that all through.
Apart from the Farmers, I've not a scrap of sympathy for them I'm afraid,not on the inheritance tax issue.

Your report card on the coming up to this first year of this government, is however spot on, no real disagreement from me with you there
You and I have discussed, very strongly at times, many things re politics.
I honestly now am so disillusioned with politics after it almost being a major part of my life.
Whether I may end up staying with Labour or looking elsewhere over the next 2 to 3 years is definitely all on the table now.
I am absolutely livid with this Labour government and Starmer.
The Conservatives under Badenoch are also disastrous at present.
The LibDems haven't impressed at all either.
The Greens are way too cranky on policies for me and hypocritical too .
I fear my disillusionment with where voters and the UK will now end up, is going to increase even further.
