Was watching a video yesterday about the UKs criminals, and where are they now...

One bloke, in for manslaughter, served 5 months of the sentence then got released.

Livia 21-05-2025 02:09 PM

I read an interesting fact today. Police are now arresting people for word crime at the rate of 10,000 per year. More than Russia.

Oliver_W 21-05-2025 02:44 PM

Her tweet warranted a chat with the police, not being locked up for over two years.

That example with no details is too broad to be meaningful; you can get manslaughter for killing your assailant.

As I understand it, its the mens estate that is under pressure, not a problem though, just accept some men saying they are women and hey presto problem solved

They could give out punitive sex changes to some offenders! Really save on space in the men's prisons...

…this is a long old read/13 pages but it’s very informative also and seems to be the full case hearing of the appeal yesterday…

Fcuking hell. :joker:

I doubt it was angry enough. Commenting on a monster, stabbing innocent little girls to death. I don't believe there is a limit on how angry you would be about that.

We can't encourage grown adults to think that it's okay to incite violence.

Incite? She said "for all she cares" or similar. There's no proof that the bloke who set bins on fire outside that hotel was encouraged by her.

Interesting read, the Judge didn't really have any sympathy for her

She seems a bit silly but you can see why she was so upset at the killings given what had happened to her 19 month old, not someone most people will get over losing a child

She sounds like an awful racist. No hang on, she IS an awful racist.
Sounds like she needs to learn how to be a decent person.

She probably is a decent person , but years of despair can do funny things to a person. People can become reactionary. Shea probably suffering some form of PTSD after the loss of her child.

Her lawyers seem worthless.

She wasn’t irrational. She was racist.

Spose only victims in Rotherham and places like that could answer that truthfully.

Cherie 21-05-2025 08:06 PM

Gary Linekar is racist, he even apologised for being racist, no jail time for Gazza

Beso 21-05-2025 08:20 PM

Is illegal immigrants a race?

Cause that's who she mentioned. No mention of any race at all in her tweet.

But she got jailed for stirring up racial hatred. Wow.

Not true, but par for the course.

She said that she was okay with people in the Hotels being burned alive.

In any civilized country, that is illegal to say.

And by incitement, I am on about the fact that she was potentially encouraging other people to potentially attack those Hotels.

Arguably being racist is being irrational.

…in reading the court appeal transcript which gives the case a bit more clarity for me…it wasn’t just one tweet/tweets made over a few days and one of those also included the government/politicians in the ‘setting fire to…’ as well…and these tweets were made at a very volatile time when there was an extremely worrying ongoing situation not only happening but also escalating in towns…

…I do personally feel that there are multiple things with this case…I do now feel that the prison time should have been re-considered in the appeal now because there is no longer that ongoing situation and she doesn’t seem a ‘danger to the public’ she’s probably very much learned the power and weight of words and consequences…looking at the whole transcript it doesn’t feel to me that she had a very good legal representation who fully explained either about her plea and the full possible sentencing that could be given….unfortunately for Lucy, I think that she had already said that she would ‘play the card of mental health’ and she also made mention to the fact in her tweet(s) that she was in full knowledge that what she saying was very troublesome in terms of the law but she showed disregard for that…it’s a lot more detailed case than just ‘one tweet’ and even that one tweet is often not fully quoted by the media so far as the court transcript refers…but all in all, I don’t think now that it serves any purpose to not allow her out on an early release…I think with her family now is probably a much better place for ‘rehabilitation’….
