We are supposed to treat his drag persona as a person with a separate gender? What type of insanity even is that?

Yeah... BB didn't think that one through very well.:joker:

Fair point.

Regardless, I don't think it was an order or a rule as such, I think that BB was just giving Mickey an answer as he asked and a lot of people would say she when a drag queen is in character. Of course that's my interpretation of the conversation but I think it's logical since in the L&L show everyone so far (including friends of his) have referred to Danny as "he" even when talking about him on launch night when he was in Drag

That's how I interpreted it also. They (BB) gracefully answered and weren't requiring or pressuring him to use any pronoun specifically. Mickey seemed legitimately confused is all... now if he uses "he" instead and they gave him a warning, then that would be very different.

My impression is that Danny would just like to be treated as a person at the end of the day.

Would you be saying that if the Democrats were doing this to Republican journalists?

But they don’t refer to a body of water by its actual name.

At first I thought the "everything's about you" comment may have just been a joke that he thought Danny could take, but I do think that Danny picked up on his energy early on.

But if he does harbour some feelings about trans women and he is reflecting that onto Danny, it's misplaced because Danny is a drag queen, not a trans woman. Those are two entirely different things.

Unless they really come to blows at some point I could see Daley coming round to Danny and perhaps realising that the pre-conceptions he possibly has in his head about people like Danny aren't actually true.

That’s the problem with the uneducated. They don’t seem to be able to differentiate between drag queens and transgender people.

Maybe Daley has a brain in his head and will think differently.

Danny even said in last nights episode that there seems to be a fine line between trans and drag.

that is a lot of unfounded conjecture, it reads like fan fiction

Well yeah... but even when Danny wasn't "normal" looking I don't understand why it's being made into a big deal. It's a drag performance, a character, an art form that has existed for generations. The entire point of Danny's medium of performance is to not look normal, but that's not how they live in everyday life.

It seems like these days some people are so desperate to try and politicise drag when it's literally just a style of performance.

Even the whole thing about pronouns when it comes to drag is being so blown out of proportion. If someone is referring to a drag queen while in drag as "she" it's meant as a sort of joke, a wink wink, it's meant to be a light hearted way of showing that you are in on the joke and going along with the gag, it's not that they are literally asking you to believe that they are a woman. I swear common sense just doesn't exist with quite a few people on this site.

...Or it's me watching Big Brother and giving my opinion on how I read a situation and where I think it could possibly go in the future, you know... like sort of the point of a forum. You would think someone with over 100,000 posts would grasp that concept but hey ho.

Don't really wanna get involved is this usual shitshow, but tbf, if seeing Danny (or any drag queen) for the first time and they're in full make up, then waking up the next day to see them completely out of make up will come as a shock. Just because of how different the person looks.

It wouldn't be unreasonable for anyone to be like "omg i can't get over how different you look out of make up". Nothing to do with prejudice or any kind of phobia, it's just a natural human reaction.

I agree, of course people can and will be surprised to see how Danny looks out of drag especially for the first time, but that wasn't the point I was making.

Cherie 10-04-2025 11:23 AM

I don't associate trans with drag queens, given some drag acts are straight males, but drag queens rather than coming under different umbrellas have been assimilated into the LGBTQ community and seem to be over protected by that community no matter what. I don't think Daley did anything wrong, they were laughing in the bedroom about it after, and last night when they went into the store room to collect their prizes Daley and Danny were laughing again, think people are trying to cause an issue where there isn't one, time will tell of course, I also find it amusing that there is a protection afforded to some groups when it comes to critisizing brown people that are not afforded to the rest of us

Danny seems very eager to persecute people on their looks.

Twice he's done it so far.

The vast majority of drag queens are gay men. They are already in the community by default.

And what is the point you are making about brown people? I feel like I missed something.
