If you've ever seen Daria and the "Sick Sad World" news segments, that's literally the world as it is portrayed now... it was meant to be satirical, though

It's definitely fascinating.

I mean, you can still ask him why he posted a paid link. That's not going to hurt feelings. I don't think he is a heavy newsreader. Younger people don't tend to read the media like us old farts do, they get their information from what comes up on social now... and it's mostly designed around getting people to react and engage with it. Scary, I know.

EDIT: Just checked on Desktop. The Telegraph article in the OP isn't paid access.

On my mobile phone it asks for subscription to continue reading...

I haven't read it but here it is:

Funny enough, if I open it on Chrome (I use Firefox) it gives me the subscription-only message. I was going to check with a VPN if it was maybe because we were out of country. But there's simpler ways around it...

It was a mistake, wasn’t trying to spark arguments just thought because it was kids it was a big woo ha.

Ninastar 27-07-2025 01:27 AM

It’s okay, we don’t think you’ve done anything especially heinous

I know it's a cultural thing, but "woo ha" usually means "vagina" in the US... so I had to think about it for a few seconds...:laugh:

Real trolls don't evolve and so don't psychologically age with their generation. It's like their one superpower (...or weakness?)

I mean they mostly even look the same now and that show ended in '02.

It's a bizarre phenomenon to say the least.

I don't think you have anything to answer, Barry. No one thinks were were being malicious, it did get people talking, for a while at least. Although sadly it looks like the whole direction of this thread has wandered off somewhere else..

Nicky91 27-07-2025 01:45 PM

lets just pretend that all kids are saints, and that is an act of antisemitism

that is what this news story gives off for vibe :umm2:

i mean if kids misbehave themselves, and especially on planes that is a no go, they kick you out, regardless of race, religion, gender

no offense of course

It has, but hard to discuss an incident where all the key details are being reported as hearsay and no one else wants to make the same mistake. Especially if the bits in the main article are true about them trying to get phones to check for footage...
