well c4 announcement said housemates were 'safe' but of course they'd say that either way
|
In the world of terrorism these are well known already.
Here is the latest from the BBC site A full sweep can take several hours or days. I think they should scrap Big Brother entirely and just do a phone poll to win, if that. |
anyone else think this could be the premature end to this series?:wavey:
|
More news from the BBC News Online:
A sniffer dog had indicated the "little box" could contain explosives, a Hertfordshire Police spokesman told BBC News Online. Bomb disposal experts have placed a 200-metre cordon around the house. The housemates have been moved to a room at the far end of the studio complex. -- 200 metres is more realistic, and at least this helps us understand more where the housemates are. |
We should all demand an extra week of BB4 to compensate!
|
This won't be the end to the series, they always do plan for this type of eventuality.
As for "full sweep", the contents of the box are yet to be determined. Eviction night has been rescheduled to 9pm tomorrow. M. |
Does anybody want to play the alphabet game ?????
|
Good idea Splodge .:wavey:

It could just be some film special effects that someone left lying around.
And Sticks I wouldn't have thought you would be in favour of giving in to terrorism (if that's what it turns out to be, that is) |

If so, we can suspect the all clear in a few hours - a "full sweap" will occur ONLY once the contents of the box are dertermined. God knows why people are currently convinced it's a bomb NOONE KNOWS THAT YET! |
WOW this is BIG!!
|
wonder where they've put all those people hanging around outside?
I'm surprised C4s website can't cope with so many simultaneous hits from people trying to find out what's going on. They obviously don't anticipate heavy traffic. |

We have to take precautions all the time at airports is that giving in to terrorism ? Some parts of London are off limits is that giving in to terrorism ? To carry on now is irrisponsible. BB4 should end now, it is not worth the risk. |
we take a risk every day we get on the tube or walk down a busy street in London. We're just used to it - you'd go mad if you worried about it all the time.
the security is usually pretty good around studios (they did find the package, after all). It's too early to say, but I think they should inform the house and make it their decision whether to carry on if turns out to be as serious as it sounds at the moment. |
Oh sticks................................:joker:

Similarly, political party conferences have been a target of terrorists in the past and these still happen. And anyway as dustmite said we don't actually know it's a bomb yet anyway so it's too early to jump to conclusions. |

We didn't stop other things that were under threat of terrorism, until it's confirmed that this is a terrorist attack (which it won't be), then, and only then, can we decide about the status of the show. Think about all the packages found EVERY DAY at air ports... does that mean we should close all the airports down too? Get real. |
Come on Sticks, were's the tornado pictures. We must be positive these problems can be worked around. we might have a had a set back but bb must go on, if it's to finish it's because the housmates are boring nothing else. After this though I doubt it. You can tell us all about the conspiracies then.
:spin::thumbs::laugh::laugh: |
Well, other news is that in my birth town (and local town) that the statue of Hercules is going to have his bits grafted back on... (which is one of our headlines for today... if that isn't sad, nothing is):
BBC Story here |
On the suspect package, I don't believe any terrorist(s) would take a risk planting a device near a complex which is synonymous with hidden cameras inside and out. I am sure it will eventually turn out that this package was left by a member of public as a joke which has gone horribly wrong.

The security on that place is pretty much blanket, and inside most of the studios and buildings within the Elstree complex are plastered with security cameras. Ergo, I presume it's going to be one major unfortunate mistake that was made. M. |
Hi all :wavey:
I think sticks is getting a bit excited! Im sure it will turn out to be either a harmless mistake or like u said some pyrotechnics, Im sure there not at any risk, and its great that they found in just in case! im sure its fine! So sticks remeber deep breaths! |
I had to call the police out when I worked in the bank. We were just around the corner from Bishopsgate and it was a year after the bombing.
A few hours later a digruntled customer came in looking for their bag and swearing at us for opening it. Hopefully if it is someones bag they will be a bit apologetic. |
I used to work on an MOD site in Kent. When I was there we had a site lock down because of a bomb scare.
It turned out to be an old case put out for disposal. Later on a site notice came around that case put out for disposal must be ripped open. You can never be too careful though Once, for reasons I can not state here, we received an unmarked package from Northen Island. Dad had to come home from work and the package was removed to the bottom of the garden. As children we were not allowed to touch the post or get in the cars until they had been checked. Anyone, like I have, who have lived under the shadow of terrorism on a personal level should not make light of this. :nono Big Brother is a key media event and therefore by some is considered a legitimate target. BTW the package was my brother's watch back from repair |
Did know one know that the watch repairers were in Northen Island, sorry Sticks but I don't know weather to laugh  or cry :bawling: it's the way yea tell em.
