We can't announce all the nominees for the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards just yet — we'll have them for you a little later today — but it's difficult to imagine them getting any bigger than this: On Tuesday (August 4), MTV News learned that two of the hugest names in the game today — Eminem and Kanye West — each received four VMA nominations, in the same four categories, which should make for one rather intense showdown come VMA night. (Check out the complete list of this year's VMA nominees!)
Eminem's "We Made You" clip goes up against Yeezy's "Love Lockdown" for Video of the Year, Best Male Video and Best Hip Hop Video. And "We Made You" squares off with Kanye's "Paranoid" for Best Special Effects. Eminem has already won a staggering nine Moonmen. While West has won only a pair, he has landed 11 nominations in the past — and he's had some memorable offstage VMA moments too. But given Em's surprise star turn at this year's MTV Movie Awards (and remember his VMA encounter with Triumph the Insult Comic Dog back in 2002?), we don't know what to expect from either artist this time around. So, really, this one is too close to call. And what else would you expect from two of hip-hop's top-ranked heavyweights? Whenever the big guns come out, it's almost impossible to predict who'll come out on top. Luckily, you will be the ones determining the winner, by voting for your favorite Moonman contender at VMA.MTV.com. So, will it be Em's night, or will Kanye walk away victorious? Find out when the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards return to New York City, live, September 13 at 9 pm. Outrageous Brit Russell Brand returns to host, and Taylor Swift, Pink, Green Day and Muse have all been confirmed as performers. The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards will take place September 13 at 9 p.m. ET. Nominees, celebrity presenters and additional performers will be announced in the coming weeks. To be the first to find out the inside scoop, follow the Inside MTV Twitter account at Twitter.com/InsideMTV. |

Well done Kanye for the TCA!
He deserved it. |
Actually I just realised that Kanye is probably my fave male artist.
I never knew that. :O |
http://i25.tinypic.com/25zt0td.jpg It was only a matter of time before Kanye West ventured onto the silver screen…well, into the world of short films anyway. Kanye has appeared in a Spike Jonze’s short film, which features a version of West’s song See You In My Nightmares, remixed by Jonze’s brother, one half of N.A.S.A - Squeak E.Clean. The film, entitled We Were Once A Fairytale reportedly sees a bewildered Mr. West drunkenly boasting in a club, hallucinating, sleeping with a pillow and ripping a demon from his stomach…nice! This is not the first time the Where The Wild Things Are director has teamed up with Kanye. Jonze also directed the video for West’s 2008 hit Flashing Lights which was arguably one of the best videos of last year so expectations are high for this 15 minute short film. According to Jonze’s blog, We Were Once A Fairytale is to be released via iTunes on September 8th. Can't believe this thread was made 9 months ago  |
http://i28.tinypic.com/2ago6q.jpg Kanye West caused outrage at the MTV VMAs last night after he humiliated Taylor Swift by interrupting her winner's speech. Country star Taylor was giving her thank-yous as she accepted the Best Female Video gong for You Belong With Me when the hip hop star stormed the stage. He grabbed the mic from Swift and said: "Taylor, I'm really happy for you, and I'm gonna let you finish, but Beyonce (for Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)) had one of the best videos of all time." :joker: |

Is Emmanuel Adebayor football's version of Kanye West?
Or is Kanye West music's version of former Arsenal, current Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor? If you missed it, Kanye West stormed the stage of the VMAs tonight and took the microphone from country singer Taylor Swift and said that Beyonce should have won the award. I know, what does celebrity buzz have to do with football? Not a whole lot, except the incident did find some ties to football in the world of Twitter not long after One fan made the direct comparison to Adebayor that I jokingly did in the lead of this post - and incidentally gave me the idea for the post. @usofarsenal: kanye west is the adebayor of the rap game. Then a few MLS stars got in on the act. @SachaKljestan: Kanye West is a dickhead, classless, moron, arrogant bastard.... not a fan anymore. @alecko11: Note to self: don't listen to or buy any more of Kanye's music. You get no props for ruining a 19 yr old girl's evening. Classless douchebag Why do I compare thee to Adebayor? Because the football world is in a tizzy because of some of the actions by the striker in Saturday's win over the Gunners. Some of it warranted - his stomping of former teammate Robin van Persie is about as ugly an act as you'll see this season. Some of it a bit overreactive - yes, Adebayor proved to be a little cuss by running like Usain Bolt to the other end of the pitch to antagonize the Arsenal faithful who made the trip to Eastlands. But really, all he did there was give Arsenal fans more of a reason to be rid of the tempermental player who never achieved all that he could have in North London. West will be the entertainment world's villain for the next few days, until someone else does something stupid that makes the tabloids light up. Is it our fault for being interested? Or is it our fault for continuing to let egomaniacs like Adebayor and West get the press they desire by reacting when they act out? http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/spo...anye-west.html |
When I think about him, I can feel vomit burning my throat. But nevermind.
 |
Hope u keep thinking about him then
