Madonna Does Biker Chic And Shows Off Her Roots In The Process
http://www.entertainmentwise.com/new...in-the-process Is Madonna having a midlife crisis? The popstar, 50, stepped out in a tight leather biker jacket yesterday, often a sign of a post-fifty freak-out. The age-defying wannabe wore her jacket zipped up as she left a building in Chelsea after a meeting. http://www.entertainmentwise.com/pho...madgeroots.jpg And to make matters worse, it looks like Madonna was having a bad hair day as well. The singer sported some eye-poppingly visible roots. Memo to Madge: your locks are crying out for some attention! |
Have you seen that picture, It quite beautiful even at 50. ^^^^

Madonna wants a home in Malawi
http://sify.com/movies/fullstory.php?id=14880102 Pop superstar Madonna wants to build a home in the African country of Malawi though her application to adopt three-year-old Mercy from the country has been turned down. Madonna's attempt to adopt was denied last week as she had not lived in the country for 18 months. So now she is having architects come up with plans for a house there and believes it will be good for her other adopted son David Banda to reconnect with his birthplace, reports thesun.co.uk. A source said: "Madonna has a big, beautiful plot of land over there already. She's planning to build a girl's school in the Chinkhota village and those designs are well under way. But she's gone back to the designers and asked if they could accommodate a family home on the plot or on adjacent land." |

Madonna's Mercy mission - What went wrong?
http://www.nowmagazine.co.uk/celebri...-went-wrong/1/ The star's left distraught as her two-year plan to adopt her beloved Malawian girl fails Madonna’s been left ‘shocked and heartbroken’ after being refused permission to adopt little Chifundo ‘Mercy’ James from Malawi, Now can reveal. The singer, who was confident that the Malawian court would rule in her favour, was so stunned when she learnt last Friday that judge Esme Chombo had ruled against the adoption that she was at a complete loss for words. ‘Madonna had every confidence that she’d be flying home with Mercy, so when the Malawian court ruled against her she felt shocked and powerless,’ says a source. ‘People think she’s just tried to get her overnight, but it’s actually been over a two-year period.' The 50-year-old star had her heart set on adopting Mercy as a sister to David Banda, who she adopted three years ago. But Madonna was branded ‘a bully’ by Undule Mwakasungula, national co-ordinator of the Malawi Human Rights Consultative Committee. Child advocacy groups also accused her of abusing her wealth and power to get special treatment from Malawian authorities and bypass a standard assessment period of between 18 and 24 months. Despite that, Madonna believed she’d showed her commitment when she set up child welfare foundation Raising Malawi after her first visit to the country in 2006 – and she appeared to have the support of government ministers and most ordinary Malawians. Mercy’s 18-year-old mother was unmarried and died soon after she gave birth, while her father is believed to be alive, but has little contact with his daughter. ‘It’s widely believed in Malawi that Madonna would provide a better life for Mercy and most people are disappointed by the ruling,’ says our source. ‘Madonna is a determined woman, though, so no one expects that she will take this verdict lying down.’ See the full story about Madonna in Now magazine dated 13 April 2009 - out now! |
Madonna 'still keen on adoption'
Madonna has told a Malawian newspaper that she wants to ensure the young girl she failed to adopt grows up in "a loving family environment". A judge rejected the adoption of the girl, four, over residency rules but Madonna's lawyer has lodged an appeal. The singer wants the chance to provide Chifundo James - whose name translates as Mercy - with a home, education and healthcare, the Nation on Sunday says. The paper said Madonna had responded to questions it submitted in an e-mail. Chifundo is in the same orphanage that previously housed David Banda, Madonna's first adopted child. If the 50-year-old singer's application had been successful, Chifundo would have been a sister to David and her biological children Lourdes and Rocco. "I want to provide Mercy with a home, a loving family environment and the best education and healthcare possible," the newspaper quotes Madonna as saying. "And it's my hope that she, like David, will one day return to Malawi and help the people of their country." Madonna's application was rejected because of a requirement that prospective parents be resident in the southern African state for 18 to 24 months. No date has been set for a court hearing to appeal against the judge's ruling. "Though I have been advised that I cannot publicly discuss the pending appeal regarding my desire to adopt Mercy, I do want to say how much I appreciate the level of support that I have received from the people of Malawi and my friends around the world," Madonna reportedly said. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7995947.stm |
Madonna buys $40 million New York home
http://www.nme.com/news/madonna/44034 Madonna has reportedly bought a new home in New York City, spending $40 million on the property. The home is a four-storey Georgian mansion on East 81st Street with over 20 rooms, and was originally on the market for $5 million more. According to a report in the New York Post, Madonna may regret the purchase as the house is located above the Lexington Avenue subway, and noise from the trains frequently irks residents. The house has a large garden, nine fireplaces and a wine cellar as well as 13 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms, and Madonna reportedly plans major renovations. Recent tabloid reports say that she may build a home in Malawi after a judge ruled she could not adopt a second child from the country because she does not live there. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg this morning said that he would not be sending Madonna a thank you card for her purchase, but does “plan to send her a bill." |

Madonna 'depressed' over failed adoption
Madonna is reportedly depressed after her application to adopt a Malawian girl was rejected. The 'Miles Away' singer has allegedly stopped eating and exercising after a court ruled against the adoption of four-year-old Mercy James. "She has abandoned her strict macrobiotic diet and is virtually eating nothing. She has even stopped training since she returned from Malawi and seems to be in a trance a lot of the time," a source told The Express. The star is said to have lost 5lbs since returning to London and is struggling to control her emotions in public. "Madonna attended a Passover dinner in London held by members of her Kabbalah faith and broke down in tears about Mercy," the source added. "She looked wiped out, telling guests she felt weak from lack of sleep and exercise. She said she felt too low to train which, for her, is unheard of." The 50-year-old star reportedly shared a tearful phone call with ex-husband Guy Ritchie and has vowed to appeal the court's decision. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/showbiz/...-adoption.html |
