Still not answering my point

I'm not letting it go ... and if you do then I just take it as you have no answer and it kind of undermines your whole argument really

Nothing to let go.

Sky Movies Example
no Ads in the feature.

So for example Marmite sponsers BBC Eastenders.

The BBC makes big money
from worldwide deals
DVD sales and products , toys etc
so much now.

They will be able to stand on their own feet.

This BBC tax was not meant for this Multi Channel age.
It is out dated, the BBC know that , but keep plans ready
because this BBC tax is wrong and will go.

Tom 04-04-2009 06:29 PM

Sponsorship money is nowhere near enough to sustain the entire BBC network

They have enough worldwide money flowing in,
everything has to change
that is the way life goes.

andyman 04-04-2009 06:34 PM

Where is the source about the end of the licence fee?
Plus do you have a source with the info how the bbc network will "stand on it's own feet" or did you dream of this?

Nothing is a dream.

Any Source can not be printed.

But the worldwide projects have to be supported by the money made by them. Otherwise there is no point if they're making a rubbish profit and they might as well close

Its basically the same as telling a commercial broadcaster to put funding from one channel into another few channels

arista 04-04-2009 06:42 PM

But they Sell 80%
of UK productions making big profits.
And many other area's are now being marked to bring in funding.

Again
it will change
it is not the end of the BBC.
But they will no longer be Bloated with UK Tax money.

andyman 04-04-2009 06:44 PM

Arista is dreaming.. The bbc works fine, the bbc knows that, the government knows that and so do the licence payers, nothing will change!

What arista has posted is a joke! If the mad raving green looney party get into power then arista's anti-bbc dream could happen... Fair to say it will never happen!

The Real World.

arista 04-04-2009 06:46 PM

Change has to come
for everything around the BBC
you can see it as dreams andyman
that is your problem, not mine.

I do not Joke about
the Future of the BBC.

Tom 04-04-2009 07:17 PM

But change isn't needed and it isn't necessary

Well if you can't see the bigger picture change isn't needed. The license fee does not just affect the BBC. Heads of other broadcasters support the license fee because they know how it will affect their own companies.

Also you don't pay for what ange watches in Australia, BBC Worldwide funds itself through its worldwide channels, sales of BBC formats and UKTV channels. That isn't enough to support BBC1-4, BBC News, Parliament and all the radio channels.

arista 04-04-2009 07:33 PM

Sure BBC Worldwide takes over
after I funded Ange's BBC content.

Also
UKTV channels are only half funded by the commercial BBC
and they show a great deal of many products , of course.

They will make the Funding cover it all
no more Bloated BBC.

Tom 04-04-2009 08:01 PM

According to Wikipedia they made a profit of £108m last year which is relatively small in TV land

We fund the programmes to be shown in the UK, they are then sold worldwide, as are a lot of shows not funded by us because they're from independent production companies

arista 04-04-2009 08:07 PM

Yes like Endemol make the Weakest Link
but then Endemol are paid by BBC
who we the UK public fund.

The BBC is changing all the time.

Tom 04-04-2009 08:19 PM

BBC Worldwide buy shows such as Footballers Wives and sell those worldwide, thats what I was on about not what is shown over here

arista 05-04-2009 07:45 AM

Yes BBCAmerica buys Primeval from ITV
to show on there USA channel
I am aware of all these areas
but it does not stop the well out dated
BBC UK Tax going
in the near future.

Just go to BBC3 any night loads of Repeats 'all the time.'

At Peak times
Repeats on 'BBC1' were mean't to be stopped.

The Bloated BBC go back on their word far to much.

And Down Under
so freaking what if you get repeats
you are Lucky I pay for you
you bugger.
You pay for me? Excuse me?

Down Under
I pay for the BBC
Ange watches
nothing to do with You Tom.
for the record bbc world tv isn't free here is Australia. To access you have to PAY for cable tv and get it bundled with other channels like cnn etc. The idea that somehow Brits are subsidising my bbc viewing is therefore a joke. Even more so given that I don't personally subscribe to it. Secondly world service TV is used by brit governments to further the world's cultural understanding of things British and to further ideals like democracy . Many countries produce TV made specially for world consumption eg DW tv in Germany, voice of America from the US etc. The ends served are those of the nations ( and therefore their citizens...ie YOU Arista) and not just my personal viewing pleasure. The idea that I somehow ought to thank you Arista for the BBC and it's pro British propaganda is kind of funny. But not "ha ha" funny. PS we have the ABC.. government funded and modeld on your BBC and we're VERY proud of it but it doesn't hold a candle to your BBC. The idea that you hate the BBC so much is really surprising and kind of shows your lack of appreciation for the role an independeant, non-commercial media outlet plays in a modern democracy. Look up "the fourth estate" and
find out what your really calling for instead of repeating your catchphrases that pretend to be arguments.

arista 05-04-2009 07:54 AM

Yes Ange You pay a little
We here in the UK pay a great deal.

Also the UK BBC is now getting Commercial,
Outsources every show.
They were once a fair company
but now as a Massive Comercial UK BBC (selling BBC products)
Yank BBC
and our BBCTV
it is not how you see it ange.

Thats why the whole J.Ross/Brand thing went down
as the BBC permitted the Commercial side
'Brands Production Company' to have total control
above the BBC Radio staff/BBC Internet staff.
That was shown on a lIve feed.

Conflicts Of Interest.
BBC 2009.

pinkmichk 05-04-2009 08:51 AM

with the brand/ross thing there was only about 40 complaints til the press reported it then hundreds jumped on the complaining bandwagon
and arista if the fee bothers you that much dont pay it will be you in trouble at end of it christ i'm a single mum on benefits and i pay it it bugs me but i pay it bbc3 alone pays for it for me

Yes The Press had a Right to Attack
Ross/Brand shown Live in BBC Internet
and on BBC Radio.

The Fee
the Out Dated BBC Tax
has to be paid.
If you are on their system
you can not get off - unless you Die.

pinkmichk 05-04-2009 09:03 AM

but the thing about the brand ross thing most of the people who complained after the press reported it hadnt even heard it apart from youtube

arista 05-04-2009 09:06 AM

Sure but what they said was written
everyone found out
even Brown had to talk about it.

And the reason Ross/Brand did that was due
to BBC not having control of it.
Outside Brand Production Company
had total contol.

We don't pay for BBC Worldwide therefore we don't pay for the BBC that ange gets!

The shows we do pay for, but to broadcast here in the UK. BBC Worldwide is just a subsidiary that sells these shows on to other countries but in turn makes very little profit that would only just keep a digital channel afloat.

arista 05-04-2009 11:02 AM

You are wrong some of the BBC money goes into Commercial BBC UK division
they are debating it now.

They are considering
BBC Online to go Commercial.
they have many ideas.

The BBC will change
and have Ads
so Digital Channels go on.
They are making plans
for when they are no longer
under well out dated UK BBC Tax funding.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7613938.stm

play this video.
They will not touch him
as it opens a Debate that the BBC are scared of.

Tom 05-04-2009 11:08 AM

But its still not enough (the money that goes from BBC Worldwide)
