the rise in the radicals is purely the fault of corrupt war mongering politicians and the corrupt war wongering media moguls theyve empowered to spread the hate and promote and finance the wars. as you say its a small minority who are war mongers in all religions yet it is these radicals who seem to haev huge control and get most attention. theyre a dreadful example to younger people and a menace to all society....I say lets grab back religions for the silent moderate majority who are more inclined to preach love and peace.

Not true. It's all about the dogma. You could never get a Jainist (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jainism) to bomb an abortion hospital, or fly a plan into a building.

Unless there is validation in the scriptures (which there are with the Abrahamic monotheisms), then there is no where for religious extremists to hide.

The scriptures of of Judaism/Christianity/Islam are appalling documents, written by ignorant people before we knew any better.

I believe he said that he doesn't believe in Judaism but that they don't demand as much of a public say as Christianity and Islam. How's that praising the religion? No mention of Jesus in my post so I don't see where you're getting that from. I see you're avoiding all of my post, only picking on trivial matters. Care to explain why your book pretty much upholds the same views as all other religious books - including Judaism - without spouting the usual: "it wasn't from jesus!" crap - totally avoiding my entire post? You really should engage your brain before your fingers. What I actually said, was that Judaism isn't as bad as Christianity and Islam. Hardly praise. It's like being the skinniest kid in fat camp as far as I'm concerned. I also feel that Judaism, because of the age of it, has been through many reformations, and has become more secular on the whole.

No - I was on about America. America is the most Christian country in the world. I didn't see George Bush offering his other cheek on 9/11. Like I've said before. You'll struggle to find a Christian that is actually Christ-like.

Jesus wasn't the first to preach about compassion, love, and empathy. I have no issues with the philosophies of Jesus. They were just neither special, or new.

Judaism is more secular? Tell that to the palestinians. Are the 611 commandments more secular? Is the decision by Israel to ignore the democratic vote in the united nations by 138 nations to 9 , to give Palestine statehood? Isnt this what Israel asked for? a 2 state solution? the moment it gets closer to reality, they build more illegal settlements, steal more land and declare it as a deliberate act of revenge against the united nations democratic vote? tell us whats so secular about all this?

George w bush is a nutter. The fact he is a war womngering nutjob doesnt in any way diminish the great teachings of jesus. As for Christ, ok so we are agreed jesus us awesome , have a thanks. as for whether his teachings were special or new? well put it this way, he was still more enlightened than anyone else on the planet 2000 years later. And he is still celebrated and loved by 2 billlion Christians and even atheists admire and respect him. How many will be remembering your words and mine in 2 years , let alone 2000? very few.

As I said before, even if it didn't come from Jesus, the Bible still said it. Fact. End of discussion. Don't try and make Judaism seem the greater of the two evils when Christianity is (as the very minimum) just as sexist and homophobic. I didn't verbally abuse you. I just pointed out the sheer stupidity of Christianity (and religion in general) - not you. Just your religion and your hypocrisy by having a go at Judaism whilst Christianity has the exact same shortcomings and, as Livia excellently put, Jesus upholds the teachings of the Torah and all?

For the last time, I don't see anywhere where I mentioned anything about Jesus calling for gays to be stoned. How many more times do I have to repeat myself?

And, yeah, I classify anyone with bigoted and homophobic views to be a total bastard, so, yeah, all these Biblical figures are total tools in my eyes.
