MS getting hammered in their twitter account. Denying everything their rep said. People are pointing out that it was their official rep and IGN who said these things.

https://twitter.com/XboxSupport3/sta...24786410278912

Ms have always been a very arrogant company but surely they must realise they don't have the power they used to have. They cant dictate to the whole market the way they used to.

Their arrogance is partly what destroyed them in Japan. That market can be forgotten about. This gen they had the consumers to begin with, but it'd be ridiculous if they think they can pull off a Sony E3 2005. Sony had tremendous power back then.

Ryan57 22-05-2013 08:00 PM

Ryse has been confirmed as a One exclusive. It was rumoured, but is now confirmed. So that's one of the 15 exclusive games. Forza also. And the Remedy game is probably in that 15 releasing in the first year of the console.

Major Nelson doing a live Q&A.

40 improvements to the controller. Would like a list of those 40.

Supports 3D and 4K. Probably won't be capable of doing 4K.

Ryan57 22-05-2013 09:13 PM

No support for CRT TVs. SMH. I did wonder if this would happen.

Iceman 22-05-2013 10:47 PM

Also LOLOLOLOLOL at them claiming they won this generations console wars....released a year before PS3 and the PS3 outsold them.... I was genuinely gonna jump ship to xbone had this been a good reveal....

'Infinite power' yet can't play 360 games. Makes sense.

Guys over at NeoGAF were pissing themselves at the 'infinite power' line. :joker:

I hate that term
"The infiiiiiiiiiiiinate power of the clooooooooooooud"

It's like....what the heck does that even mean? Also, cloud technology doesn't mean **** to people who don't have a good internet connection.

Indeed. Except for backing up saves. Infinite power is total nonsense anyway. As Sony are going with Cloud technology also, which will see BC yet MS' aren't.

Makes sense. Such an arrogant company, really. Don Mattrick deeming those who want BC to be 'backwards'.

Brother Leon 23-05-2013 02:17 PM

The Cloud thing means even though games are tied to your profile, you can pay them on different consoles in your home or at your Friend's etc, due to "The Power Of The Cloud" lol.

A disc is needed to play the game elsewhere still.

Edit: Cloud is basically for backing up saves and streaming. MS said it can do some computational duties but that could be BS.

Microsoft say, 'It’s also been stated that the Xbox One is ten times more powerful than the Xbox 360, so we’re effectively 40 times greater than the Xbox 360 in terms of processing capabilities [using the cloud].'

Good lord the Xbox One looked turrible :/ The Final Bosman on the conference really summed things up nicely.

And yeah, Microsoft's constant cloud talk is reminding me of this:

Forza have leaked what the Xbox One boxes will look like

I cant tell from that angle if it will be same size as the 360 or like the PS3 boxes..if they are smart they will make them small like the PS3/Blu Ray

A new patent filed by Microsoft suggests that Kinect will monitor the number of viewers in a room and if necessary give content providers the option to charge a license fee should there be too many viewers.

According to Extreme Tech, the abstract from the patent states, "The users consuming the content on a display device are monitored so that if the number of user-views licensed is exceeded, remedial action may be taken."

You can't really get much clearer than that.

The patent can limit the number of performances within a set time period, limit the viewers and allows for Microsoft to continually monitor viewers for "when performance of the content to an identified user exceeds a threshold."

Microsoft's patent will also cover head-mounted devices, large screens, gaming and media products, computers, and even mobile phones.

You can check out the patent here.

Big brother is watching it seems.

Okay, I swear Xbox wants us to dislike them now.

Tom4784 24-05-2013 01:20 PM

It's like they're trying to flop on purpose.

Black Dagger 24-05-2013 01:26 PM

They will be ringing up everybody whose had a previous XBox console telling them to buy a PS4 next.

GiRTh 24-05-2013 01:28 PM

Its cuz MS still think they can dictate to the market.

The idea that they're suddenly gonna charge for something that has never been charged before shows their total arrogance. Hopefully the gaming community will all defect to their rivals.

There are very few worthy exclusive MS releases and one of those (Gears of War) has just produced the worse game they've made in almost a decade. Most people online are playing the previous iteration. LOL

This is not going well for MS. Its about time they realised where they re in the market and that they're not the leaders they once were.

Retailers will be free to charge whatever they wish for pre-owned Xbox One games, but both Microsoft and publishers will take a percentage cut of every sale.

Retail sources have told MCV that Microsoft has this week briefed key retail partners on how it intends to take ownership of the pre-owned market.

This is how we’ve been told it will all work:

A gamer walks into a retailer and hands over the game they wish to sell. This will only be possible at retailers who have agreed to Microsoft’s T&Cs and more importantly integrated Microsoft’s cloud-based Azure pre-owned system into its own.

The game is then registered as having been traded-in on Microsoft’s system. The consumer who handed it over will subsequently see the game wiped from their account – hence the until now ambiguous claim from Phil Harrison that the Xbox One would have to ‘check in’ to Microsoft’s servers every 24 hours.

The retailer can then sell the pre-owned game at whatever price they like, although as part of the system the publisher of the title in question will automatically receive a percentage cut of the sale. As will Microsoft. The retailer will pocket the rest.

Unconfirmed reports on ConsoleDeals.co.uk suggest that retail’s slice will be as little as ten per cent. That’s a significant cut from what it has become accustomed to from pre-owned sales and more in line with what they would receive from the sale of a new game – hence, the value of the pre-owned market to the retailer is effectively destroyed.

These same unconfirmed reports also suggest that the activation cost for consumers buying or borrowing pre-owned software will be £35.

When contacted by MCV Microsoft responded with the following statement: “We know there is some confusion around used games on Xbox One and wanted to provide a bit of clarification on exactly what we’ve confirmed.

"While there have been many potential scenarios discussed, we have only confirmed that we designed Xbox One to enable our customers to trade in and resell games at retail. Beyond that, we have not confirmed any specific scenarios. Another piece of clarification around playing games at a friend’s house – should you choose to play your game at your friend’s house, there is no fee to play that game while you are signed in to your profile.”

UPDATE: Many readers are asking whether the £35 will be additional cost on top of the price of buying the game. No, we believe that the £35 figure – which is not our number, incidentally – would cover the entire transaction. If correct this would leave retail with a cut per sale of around £3.50.
£35. ROFL!

This and the Kinect **** above. And their arrogance in thinking they can sell upward of 1 billion units is making me hate this company right now.

The Military arent interested in the Xbox One

Quote:

Navy Lt. Scott Metcalf was eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new Xbox One. Now he’s not even sure if he’ll buy one.

Indeed, for many in the military, the next-gen Xbox console may offer more endemic frustration than grand epic gaming, particularly for those deployed downrange, aboard ships and stationed overseas.

Xbox One, Microsoft’s much-anticipated new console, got its big reveal at the Electronic Entertainment Expo gamers’ convention in Los Angeles. Company honchos are confident it will come to dominate living rooms over the next decade not only as the gaming delivery vehicle of choice, but also with a barrage of other content, including a suite of apps, streaming video and music.

There’s one big but, however: To get all this entertainment awesomeness, the console will have to check in online with the Microsoft mothership at least once a day.

“With Xbox One you can game offline for up to 24 hours on your primary console, or one hour if you are logged on to a separate console accessing your library. Offline gaming is not possible after these prescribed times until you re-establish a connection,” an Xbox spokesperson tell Military Times.

idgi? I assume that means you can't play your games at all? Are they just being wankers for fun now lol.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 15-06-2013 11:39 PM

i think so

so basically if you get banned from xbl the games you paid for become worthless because you won't even be able to sell them or pass them on as you need to transfer the licence over xbl

i actually cannot believe how ****ing dumb they are like seriously i could probably do a better job running the company

Black Dagger 15-06-2013 11:44 PM

The fact people will actually invest in this... lol

I'm not even a Sony fan-boy, I enjoyed the 360 and Xbox in general, but I love the fact they've messed up and Sony will continue to get stronger, they haven't even revealed any possible strong exclusives yet.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 15-06-2013 11:46 PM

sunset overdrive does look flawless

and dead rising 3 but that will probably be a timed exclusive

i still wouldn't buy one anyway

ps4 >
