I know I'm not earning but I'm too busy studying..studying so I can earn a higher wage, not that my finances have anything to do with anyone else apart from me. When it comes down to it, it's just a donation.. if someone wants to donate they can. I don't mind if the VIP happens or not, but for £1/2 who's going to miss that? If they have the money, they have the money... There isn't going to be many people without small change like that. Even if they have a student loan/grant or a part time job.

But if you'd pay just to donate to the forum and not for any of the features, surely there should just be a donate button and no VIP stuff, etc.?

It's kinda like the people who are donating aren't really donating to help the forum, they just want extra features so they can be 'more important' than the ones with standard features.

It's a good idea, but it's quite controversial/difficult to make work without complaints so I think a donate button would be much better if everyone in here is so 'dedicated to helping keep the forum running'.

I agree Hayden,if people want to donate that's fine,I don't see the need for any extras and people use the invisible button for a reason,so surely if people can bypass that,that is wrong,If people want to browse privately they should be able to without someone whos paid a couple of quid been able to invade that.I donate on a forum,but when I chose to and its not compulsory.

Don't know if it's already been mentioned but My only worry would be about some sort of elitism forming if we split members into V.I.P and others.

If people behave I suppose it wouldn't be an issue but this place doesn't need any more avenues to form cliques.

Why would there be cliques? Seriously? "OH I have vip above my name and so do you let's get together!1" that'd just be sad.

Another forum I used to go on had donator userbars right from the start, everyone used it, they were mostly 16-20 year olds as well, didn't mind paying. It wouldn't form groups at all, not that there's anything wrong with that, what's wrong with being friends with people? :)

I'd wager it would. People come together on common ground. If you have two groups of people with one set having specific perks over another on a forum it won't take long before before we get people thinking and acting like their opinions mean more because they pay.

I only voted no because I didn't like the idea of people who donate having special stuff it will look weird for some people to have colored user names and some people to have plain usernames

But I like the idea of people being able to donate and imo if people donate a couple of time or donate like over £20 or something they should get an award not any special power
