You think they're taking it as a joke but 9 times out of 10 the post you're infracted for has been reported and brought to the mods attention by the person who is supposedly in on the joke :laugh:

Tbh I had this happen to me the once.

I normally can understand my infractions, but when I got infracted for jokingly calling Katie Hopkins fans "UKIP Chavs" and I asked them why I got infracted for it, they didn't reverse it, and they didn't even respond to me.

jokes are based on opinions. some find them funny and some dont. if your breaking the rules by telling the joke then ofcourse you deserve the punishment!

And as Vicky said you insulted fans of a housemate, that's a rule break whether you claim it to be a joke or not.

This thread is to do with infractions, so an infraction that I didn't deserve that also never got reversed is relevant to the thread.

And how is a joke insulting to the fans? A lot of people at the time was even laughing about it, if I remember correctly only 2 or 3 of them even took offense to it.

Its a discussion about infractions in general, it's not a thread for you to bring up any infractions that you have a problem with, an infraction from months ago too that you could have pmed a mod about at the time if you wanted to discuss it.

I did and nobody discussed it with me at the time.

Then we clearly never felt it needed to be discussed, more than likely because it is a rule break no matter how you try to cover it up by claiming it was a joke.

And Josy it should've been discussed when most of the Forum was laughing at the post, because guess what? They took it as a joke instead of someone just having some personal vendetta against Perez fans at the time and saw it as a way to strike.

I have to say, i remember reporting that post, not because you were a Perez fan, that didn't bother me, the comment itself bothered me, if you meant it as a joke, it was a greatly misjudged and offensive one which didn't seem like a joke at all.

It was during on season and we were probably busy, if you wanted a reply that much you should have pmed one of us however you would have been told exactly what myself and Vicky have told you in this thread.

Imo when people are getting all carried away like that is when the Mods should step in and have a look at the context first, instead of just infracting and then when I try to explain myself back to them, they don't reply.

Joking with friends is a world away from joking with people you don't know.

We can generally tell the difference. With 'in jokes' we do often ignore insults and stuff unless the person on the recieving end reports.

It was a personal attack on Hopkins fans, hence why it was reported and you got infracted for it, don't try and swing it around on the people who got offended :suspect:
