The cast for the new series includes Jesse Plemons (Fargo), Rosemarie Dewitt (La La Land), Andrea Riseborough (Birdman), Georgina Campbell (Broadchurch), Maxine Peake (The Theory Of Everything), and Douglas Hodge (The Night Manager), Deadline reports. Jodie Foster directs the first episode.
no HUGE name but Jodie Foster directing should be good. They're all people I recognise by face though.

(and yes you can tell this is an American quote since Maxine Peake is quoted as some minor film role rather than, um, Shameless or Dinnerladies)

maxine :amazed:

Ashley. 10-09-2017 03:43 PM

Just watched the first episode. Clever and fascinating concept, but so bloody disturbing...

Ashley. 11-09-2017 04:27 PM

Shut Up and Dance would've been much better had I not already guessed the "twist" at the start. Just seemed fairly predictable. Don't understand the White Bear comparison though, both were great stories in their own rights

Marsh. 11-09-2017 04:29 PM

Well aren't you a dirty minded cow.

Marsh. 11-09-2017 04:29 PM

You got bloody through them bloody quick my girl. [emoji23]

Nobody has that bad a reaction to simply being filmed masturbating. I assume Mindy was underage too?

:joker: The seasons are only three episodes long so I've basically just been doing a season per night

I only watched half of Playtest, the cliché-ridden "haunted house" theme wasn't interesting for me at all.

Marsh. 11-09-2017 04:41 PM

Yeah tbh his reaction was pretty normal for anyone not wanting that kind of footage being sent to everyone they know.

It was when he went ahead with the robbery and pissed himself I was like... ok.

Mess. You missed the twists?

Marsh. 11-09-2017 04:44 PM

Also when I've gone back and watched episodes of Benidorm since SUAD, Troy really creeps me out. :worry:

Ashley. 11-09-2017 05:01 PM

Paul Bazely's appearance was the twist!

Ashley. 11-09-2017 05:06 PM

I guess I can see the comparisons with White Bear actually. In both cases we were tricked (or in my case, supposed to be tricked) into sympathizing with the main character. It sort of worked with the woman so that worked well, but I already knew the kid was twisted from the moment he smiled at that child in McDonald's

Ashley. 12-09-2017 07:17 PM

Finished! Hated in the Nation was great but considering how it was 90 minutes long, they could've spent a bit more time on the ending. But then I suppose all stories ended fairly abruptly.

Season 3 was a weak season overall. The stories were good, but they didn't have the same emotional impact as those from the first two seasons (obviously excluding that hideous Waldo episode). White Bear and San Junipero would probably be my favourite two episodes, but I liked all of them (excluding Playtest and again, the Waldo episode).

Omg, did you not have any sympathy at all for Kenny? :(

Was I supposed to sympathise with him? https://i.imgur.com/LTBwLkF.gif

Daniel. 12-09-2017 08:11 PM

I cried at the end of SUAD, I felt so bad for him even though he's scum

No, but I judge anybody who didn't have a shred of sympathy at any point. :nono:

I didn't sympathise because I already guessed he was a paedophile!

He's not though. He never acted on his impulses and was a poor confused boy struggling with an evil impulse. :nono:

Because they represent 99% of siblings living together in their parents house.

Jack_ 18-09-2017 03:47 PM

San Junipero won two Emmy's and they couldn't be more deserved :clap2:

Could they not have held on till New Year's Day? An awkward release date, not the kind of show for Christmas/NY week :worry:

Looking forward to it though!

Marsh. 06-12-2017 10:54 PM

Should've been released early December.
