Okay so I'm all caught up

This is a really promising start! The production values are very high and on par with the US version which is a good thing. It's surreal watching Survivor without Jeff for me but I think Jonathan's doing a pretty good job and I like the fact he's keeping most of the iconic catchphrases :love: (although there's a few like 'over here guys' and 'I'll go count the votes' that he needs to hone in but now I'm just being trivial lol). His challenge commentary could and should improve with time too. Oh and I'm also glad they've taken the theme and run the full intro to the episodes :love:

As for what's happened so far:



Am I also right in thinking some the crew who work on the US show are helping to at least put the episodes together for this? Might be why it's so familiar

Yeah, they share the same challenge producer and probably a few people in post-production too, or if not then they're trying to replicate the US version as best as they can

Idk why but after watching the first two eps I'm kinda bored of it already, the cast are all too similar and all the interesting ones seem to get overlooked anyway. And I still have no idea who anyone is other than a few key characters (due to there being so many people and lots of them looking similar)

Yeah I;m finding it kinda boring also. I feel like there are no strong characters and all of them are a bit vanilla. The episodes drag a lot as well, they need to be cut down to 40m, and not be 50 mins.

Way too many people as well that theres no one to really root for as no one has had sufficient airtime [Bar the people who are in danger of being voted out each episode... Therefore making it way too predictable which tribe loses and who is in danger]

I could only name about 5/22 of the castaways left so far.

Is this worth watching and if so where's the best place to watch it at?

Yeah, it's great so far and looks like it'll be a promising season - best would be to either torrent it or use the streaming links on Inside Survivor's Facebook page

(actually I think the edit has been surprisingly well-rounded considering only two out of 24 have no confessionals yet, but that won't get in the way of a cheap gag)

^I think I'd be enjoying it more if it was easier to differentiate people tbh, like everyone just seems to blend into one for me other than the big characters who have been given the most focused airtime

Watched both episodes I thought they were both enjoyable. A little bit of an old school feel to it which was cool.

Like who? It's nothing new for Survivor to prioritize a few personalities for storyline purposes, and the one's who've been quiet now will have their time, especially considering there are still 20-something episodes left. The two who were voted out were both big characters and tribe divisions have already been made apparent and more importantly, interesting. There are lots of different stories already beginning to form (Kristie's mental state and paranoia, Peter's physical state and potential quit, Sam being distrustful of women, Aganoa turning on Evan, Flick and Brooke's power alliance, Kate's OTT positivity, Nick taking on and possibly regretting his tribe leader role, Conner nearly killing himself, Kylie's kids, Phoebe & Rohan (shipping it tbh), I could go on), and that's just two episodes... yeah, I get that 24 contestants is a lot to watch and get to know, especially considering the lack of diversity which is one of my few bugbears with this season so far, but when you compare it something like Samoa where only two or three people got any real content all season, I don't understand the complaints?
