Looks like the huge Olympic ratings and peaks damages everything.

Channel 4 (exc. +1)
8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown: 0.96m (4.7%)
Friday Night Dinner: 0.76m (4.1%)
Amazing Spaces: Shed of the Year: 0.76m (3.8%)

Channel 5 (exc. +1)
Celebrity Big Brother: Live Eviction (9pm): 1.43m (7.1%)
Celebrity Big Brother: Live Eviction (10.30pm): 1.37m (8.0%)
It's Not Me, It's You: 0.57m (3.0%)

That should be around 1.6m for the first show and 1.5m for the 2nd. First show is down 100k from the first 2 evictions however the interview show was up on Grants last Friday despite a huge Olympic peak against it.

I think it's pretty amazing that 40% of the CBB audience can turn off when INMIY comes on but then almost all return after it for the eviction.
Says a lot about that panel show

This is true, I didn't even glance at that rating, but yes, everyone came flooding back for the 2nd show.

Last Friday there was a bigger drop from 1st show to 2nd show for Grants, but the majority came back last night (tbh it was a MUCH better eviction last night!)

I don't think half the audience cared who went between Grant and James last week, but last night was a much bigger eviction especially when the two girls were left hanging for the second show. It was quite an unmissable eviction too

*mazedsalv** 14-08-2016 09:13 AM

BBC 1
19:00-22:00: Olympics 2016 - 6.04m
22:30: Match of the Day - 3.08m

BBC 2
19:30: BBC Proms - 990k
21:30: Edinburgh Nights - 410k
22:10-23:55: Olympics 2016 - 3.61m

ITV (exc. HD & +1)
19:15: Catchphrase - 2.10m
20:00: The Nation's Favourite 80s Number One - 1.47m
21:30: Film: The Bourne Identity - 720k

Channel 4 (exc. +1)
22:00: Film: Gladiator - 530k

Channel 5 (exc. +1)
19:00: Cricket on 5 - 510k
22:30: Celebrity Big Brother - 980k

BBC 4
19:00-22:00: Olympics 2016 - 930k

It's not surprising that it was low, that will be around 1m with +1. Having it on so late IMO is ridiculous. Saturdays are bad enough for BB in the last 17 year, to put it up against the Olympics (well it was inevitable) and Match of The Day on such a late slot, I actually expected less, especially considering CBB beat both Channel 4 and ITV.

Despite the later start and the competition, it was still up on last summers 3rd Saturday which got 940k.

Tonight... 1.6m? That's where I reckon it will stay to the end.

Greg! 14-08-2016 10:54 AM

Why is it always on so late on a Saturday? I can never be bothered to watch it

Thanks. Big timeshifts there!

Cal. 15-08-2016 01:55 PM

Looks like this series won't struggle then. A strong year for ratings then with CBB17, BB17 and now CBB18 doing well.

supertv247 15-08-2016 01:56 PM

Almost all the time shifts are between 500-550k which is pretty good!
It's currently joint third highest summer CBB with ~2.2 million

Cal. 15-08-2016 01:57 PM

(Not that this series deserved it but CBB17 and BB17 did)

I don't understand why the ratings aren't absolutely collapsing at this series. It's one of the worst ever. Still, I'm not going to complain about the ratings this year as a whole. That can only be a good thing for the show's future.

I like to think that the ratings aren't actually that good and that if we had an amazing cast and no olympics, it'd be up as one of the highest summer series nearer ~2.8m

Same applied to BB17 actually. It done great in the ratings, especially compared to last year which was weird since this year had much more competition. So if it didn't have the competition, it could've topped secrets and lies perhaps.

Because they have replaced BB's core audience (i.e. us) with really low class trash tv viewers which is fine for now but the problem will come when they move on at the drop of a hat and all leave to watch whatever the new low rent scumfest show is like Celebrity dog wanking or whatever it is that comes along. :joker: Then they will be up **** creek without a paddle or an audience.

minny03 15-08-2016 06:43 PM

Lol, I'm not surprised to see the show doing amazingly well ratings-wise. Despite the negative comments and people on here complaining 24/7, this series has been fantastic.

There's been lots of laughs, drama, and cringe-worthy moments to keep people satisfied. And viewers are obviously entertained by The Bear vs. The House drama, which is why they keep coming back for more and to see what's going to happen next.

*mazedsalv** 16-08-2016 09:09 AM

1.36m excl +1, so will be around 1.5m incl +1. Looks like it's staying at that level at the moment against the Olymmpics which IMO is fantastic, Olympics got 7.5m on BBC1 and 7m on BBC2 last night.

Those 1.5m will end up being ~2m officials so there is no worry here at all.

CBB16 officially averaged 1.89m if people are wondering.

Vanessa 16-08-2016 09:12 AM

Great considering the Olympic games are on. :hee:

So true.

*mazedsalv** 17-08-2016 11:13 AM

1.6m incl +1 last night.

Very good considering the huge Olympic ratings and content over on BBC1. Everything else collapsed around the Olympics. First Dates couldn't even muster half a million! In fact outside the Olympics and the news, CBB had the 3rd highest ratings of any show behind Emmerdale and Endeavour (which was only around 200k above CBB!) down from the huge 4m+ it was getting before!

minny03 17-08-2016 04:50 PM

I bet some people are fuming over these ratings :D

Greg! 17-08-2016 05:00 PM

Wow cbb16 deserved these ratings not this average series

Liam- 17-08-2016 05:12 PM

Ugh, they're going to think Bear is the reason for these high ratings and keep sticking bells like him in there aren't they? :(

*mazedsalv** 19-08-2016 09:02 AM

Channel 5 (exc. +1)
Celebrity Big Brother: 1.65m (8.1%)

Looks set to be the highest rating since launch when +1 comes in as it will be 1.8m+

Jake. 19-08-2016 09:26 AM

A great rating

*mazedsalv** 19-08-2016 10:04 AM

Celebrity Big Brother: 1.83m (9%)

Highest rating since launch.

Jake. 20-08-2016 10:23 AM

Channel 5 (exc. +1)
Celebrity Big Brother: Live Eviction (9pm): 1.43m (6.9%)
Celebrity Big Brother: Live Eviction (10.30pm): 1.17m (6.7%)

Last week got 1.43m then 1.37m
I wonder why so many people turned off inbetween this week? Because I'd have thought it was the same audience watching for Marnie and Chloe last week and Bear and Lewis this week...

*mazedsalv** 22-08-2016 09:10 AM

Last night got 1.44m excl +1, so looks to be around 1.6m with +1, so back in the average range.

BARB officials come out this afternoon!

*mazedsalv** 22-08-2016 02:10 PM

Officials are in. I will post what the overnights were in brackets too.

Monday 8th- 2.03m (1.4m)
Tuesday 9th- 2.15m (1.7m)
Weds 10th- 2.21m (1.6m)
Thursday 11th- 2.29m (1.7m)
Friday 12th Part 1- 2.05m (1.6m)
Friday 12th Part 2- 2.05m (1.37m)
Sat 13th- 1.83m (1.15m)
Sunday 14th- 2.19m (1.5m)

Week average- 2.10m incl +1

Some huge timeshifts there!

Official series average so far- 2.13m incl +1

Currently still ahead of last summers series which at the end averaged 1.89m, so beating it so far by 240k. CBB14 officially averaged 2.14m! Extremely close.

But I reckon this series should average in the 2.1m at the end anyway, I don't feel it will drop to 2.04m or below.
