She would probably be fired. She does nothing really, so it won't make much difference. But grrrr Katie... she has to go!

BTW did anyone see Sir Alan on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross last week?

MarkWaldorf 16-05-2007 06:03 PM

Nah, what was it like?

Pipergun 16-05-2007 06:58 PM

Damn, I missed it too!

Looking forward to tonight's episode. Even if it's not the outcome that I'd like it to be...

[spoil]Sir Alan calls Katie a "loser"![/spoil]

BigSister 16-05-2007 07:10 PM

GiRTh 17-05-2007 09:02 AM

A good episode, not great but good. Ghazal went and, all in all, it was the right decisison. Simon is now starting to impress me. Yes, he is a prat but, as someone pointed out, he is prepared to do whatever it takes to get the job done. That is the type of person that SAS should be looking for.

Katie showed her evil side again. Her comments are so vitriolic at times that she is really letting herself down by being so nasty.

We're now getting to the point where the weaker candidates are being picked off one by one. I think Naomi will be next to go. She doesn't seem to do much and she's not a big character.

I hope the final three are Katie, Tre and Xtina, but it will probably be Lohit, Simon and Xtina. Hopefully, Xtina will win.

BigSister 17-05-2007 11:01 AM

I would like Kristina or Simon to win or Tre, one of those three I would be happy with. Although I read a spoiler so i know one of those 3 dont win. Im away for the final as wel as im on holiday

MarkWaldorf 17-05-2007 02:31 PM

Gutted Ghazal has gone. I'm liking Simon more now though.

Sophii3x 17-05-2007 04:57 PM

Ghazal went, not bothered...
Loved Simon's rapping and dancing! And moody Tre is so, so funny.

Pipergun 17-05-2007 06:59 PM

Ghazal's firing was the right decision. Katie was able to walk all over her.

I think it'll end up with Kristina and Simon as the final two, depending on how many there are in the final.

The Eclipse team (Jadine etc..) seemed to be less successful in the preview for next week, so if it's their turn to lose, I actually think Tre's the most likely to go.

However, if Stealth loses, then it'll be a closely fought battle between Katie and Naomi as to who goes, in my opinion.

Apprentice Babe Blasts Dino-Sugar!

The youngest ever candidate on TV's Apprentice has branded Sir Alan Sugar's business techniques old-fashioned - and said she would NEVER work for him.

Ghazal Asif, 23, became the ninth person to be Fired! from the show when Sir Alan slated her ad campaign for a pair of trainers last week.

But the gorgeous Glaswegian - who was now landed a job with a global IT firm based in London - hit back, asking: "What has he done recently? Not much!"

She went on: "From when Sir Alan set up his business to modern times, things have really changed. If he was starting up now would he have achieved the same amount of success? Who knows.

In terms of marketing, Sir Alan says it's all about having the logo smothered all over the advert. But in this day and age kids do not buy into that, they buy into an image of being cool. I don't think Sir Alan really got that."

Ghazal also criticised the BBC for turning the Apprentice into a carbon-copy of Big Brother.

She said: "It's a shame because it's meant to be a really strong business programme but it's turned into a analysis of personalities and how people interact. It's made that transition pretty fast and quite obviously which is a shame.

"I don't think it will be remembered as a business programme anymore."

Sir Alan reckoned the 22-year-old was too young to survive in the bitchiest Apprentice series ever - and offered her a wild-card for guaranteed entry in five year's time.

But Ghazal retorted: "I would never take that offer up in my whole entire life even if the salary was TRIPLED. I'll be a millionaire in five years time. I won't need to appear on a programme like that."

Ghazal reckons she was stitched up by the deadly duo of man-eater Katie Hopkins and Kristina Grimes who she says let her down.

She said: "I trusted Katie, I looked up to her. It's only when I watched the show back afterwards that I saw her vindictive side - the things she was saying to camera, wishing death on people...Oh my God!"

But Ghazal said she was pleased she had taken part in the show and has now been given a promotion at the global IT firm she left to take part.

She will be leaving her family in Glasgow and moving to the head office in London.

She said: "I was gutted when I was fired, but I think it happened at the right time. There was always some old-school playground bitching going on but as time went by it became more and more intense.

"It can't be good for your mental health can it?"

But the one person from the show who Ghazal became close to was troublemaker Tre Azam - whose straight-talking has made him a hit with viewers, if not with the other candidates.

She said: "Tre and I have similar backgrounds and the show was filmed during Ramadam so we were both fasting together.

"When I was cooking in the evening I'd usually cook for him because we both have to have Halal meat. So there was naturally going to be a rapport and we had a fantastic relationship.

"There's a different side to him that the cameras don't show. He can be very abrasive but he's got a really down-to-earth manner, really laid-back and chilled out.

"He's a fanstastic bloke, great to work with - and he's my favourite to win."

God I love this show! However, that Katie.... grrr to her.. she's sooooooo evil.

Red Moon 20-05-2007 10:59 AM

Hopefully next year we can generate enough interest in the show for it to have it's own section.

There is loads of good stuff on the show in the News of the World.

Ruth 20-05-2007 11:04 AM

Ghazal was pretty useless (in fact, she was pretty and useless). She was the right person to go, but I have to say, I'm getting really sick of Katie's smug pompous face.

GiRTh I agree about Simon. I do think he's a knob, but he is prepared to do whatever it takes for his team to win, and probably should be The Apprentice.

I'd like the final three to be Kristina, Simon and Tre. However, I can see nice-guy Lohit getting to the final three.

James 21-05-2007 12:14 AM

I always like to watch the Video Podcast afterwards to get extra clips.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/apprentice/apprenticast.html

Red Moon 21-05-2007 08:45 AM

If you use the 3 telephone network you get free clips of the show too. They seem to put out a teaser just before each show and then have highlights after the show.

I hope they do something like that for Big Brother to.

GiGi 22-05-2007 06:44 PM

i bet you a tenner the winner turns the job down! that would be sooo funny!

James 23-05-2007 05:57 PM

I was watching the repeat yesterday and in the preview for tonight's episode, am I mistaken, or is the boat the teams are standing in front of when SAS is giving the new challenge the Cutty Sark? Actually that would make sense if you know what this week's challenge is.

Anyway, they might have to do a bit of last minute editing tonight, or give out the old, 'in an episode filmed last year' before the show tonight.

Pipergun 23-05-2007 06:33 PM

It's now referred to on Wikipedia as the last ever television programme to feature the Cutty Sark before it was destroyed. So yep, you're right, James!

Noopie 24-05-2007 02:03 PM

I'm glad Jadine got fired! :hello:

To be honest, I think only 2 people have a shot at winning this - Kristina and Tre. I really can't imagine anyone else winning.

GhettoSuperstar 24-05-2007 08:08 PM

I'm glad Jadine went too, she always looked down on people.

I think Naomi or Kristina or Tre should win.

Ruth 25-05-2007 10:56 AM

I think the winner will be either Kristina, Simon or Tre. I'm glad Tre wasn't fired. Despite myself, I really like him.

BigSister 25-05-2007 11:25 AM

Im not sure Ruth. If Naomi keeps getting in the winning teams, or katie:bored: then they cant get fired. it depends on who is in the winning teams IMO. if I had to choose 1 to get fired next it would be katie or Naomi but I have a feeling it might be Simon or Lohad

I think Simon was very lucky not to be in the board room and on his way out for that list he made. SAS will have his card marked now!

James 25-05-2007 12:41 PM

It's going to be difficult for SAS to fire Katie now after she has won twice as team manager. Although she has been on a lot of losing teams.

She won't win though because SAS has time to gauge public opinion before he decides between the final two.

True - he didn't do much in this week's task (and I agreed with Lohit, that it should have been Simon instead of him in the BR). However, Simon has done pretty well on all other tasks, as I recall. I thought Tre might go, but Sir Alan said he would give him another chance because of his past track record. He may have done with the same with Simon. Jadine was always going to go after her meltdown moment though.

Yeah, very impressive! Then again, Jadine won twice as project manager, but that seemed to go unnoticed.

Naomi's the only person to never win as project manager.. if she's the pm this week and loses she'll be in trouble I think!

dupin 29-05-2007 07:40 AM

I suppose none of us will be watching it this week? I'll have to watch a repeat, it looks good...

BigSister 30-05-2007 11:01 PM

Anybody knew who went out this week as i missed it because of bb

I kept flicking over.
The candidate who got fired this week was
[spoil]Naomi[/spoil]

BigSister 31-05-2007 11:48 AM

Yeah I found that out on another site. not really surprised though.

Pipergun 31-05-2007 02:27 PM

I'm really disappointed that Naomi was eliminated this week. I'm not going to pretend that I wanted her to win, or that she was the strongest candidate, but Sir Alan's whole decision making process seemed flawed on last night's episode.

Not only was Simon's freezing as the director not even given a passing mention in the boardroom, Naomi's decision to include the decollage (sp?) was presented as being the bigger fault, when Simon clearly fell to pieces.

Not only was he lacklustre as a presenter, but he made extremely poor product choices: a hair remover that looked like a wall-sander, and a wheelchair. Coupled with his decision to push himself out into the limelight, he effectively left Naomi and Tre with no escape route.

This brings back memories of Miriam's firing in Series 1 - for the first time in the series, I disagree with Sir Alan's judgement. Naomi should have stayed, with Simon being fired: he was simply a disaster!

Noopie 31-05-2007 07:10 PM

^ I completely agree with you! This is the first firing this series that I've not agreed with. I knew Naomi wasn't going to win.. but she didn't deserve to go "for making bad product choices" which is really quite a lame reason to fire someone.

Sam 01-06-2007 08:40 PM

Its going to be hard next week with three being fired.

Lohits out first.

Then we got Kristina, Katie, Simon and Tre.

A really really hard one, i honestly dont have a clue which two will go,
ideally i want Katie to win :blush2:

BigSister 01-06-2007 08:42 PM

Sam your going to be really popular:laugh: most of us hate katie

Pipergun 02-06-2007 06:05 PM

Realistically, there's no way Katie will win. (Sorry Sam!! :blush2:)

Once the final two have been chosen, they're given placements within SA's company until all of the previous episodes have been shown.

Only then, with a couple of days before the final, is the winning candidate chosen. They film two seperate endings before the work placement, so they can just edit in the right one.

Therefore - SA's had time to monitor public opinion - there's no way he'd want someone working for him with such a negative reputation.

I hope Katie doesn't get into the final stages, as it'll be a no-brainer if that's the case!

Naomi was fired on Wednesday and IMO Simon should have been. He was the crappest director ever, and was just hopeless.

Totally disagree, I dont think Sir Allan will care if someone he hires isnt liked by the public, he made the mistake last year, lots of people hated Ruth, and he went for Michelle because he liked her and sympathised, he said on Jonathon Ross that he doesnt want a daughter figure, he doesnt want someone who is his friend, he wants someone whos tough talking and good, he said Katie and Tre were both good candidates.
