We are not talking accents, we are talking stomping about chanting like a maniac

The chanting genuinely reminded me of this

When I was a child and teenager, I normally spoke with a northern Yorkshire/Durham borders accent at home, as did my siblings, but whenever we went out of the house we spoke with our White /African accent. Eventually we all but lost our English accent.
My parents accent never changed but when we came back here we were looked upon as snobs because we spoke with such a clipped accent.

Oh, and in both South Africa and Rhodesia/Zimbabwe there was loads of chanting and foot stomping dances.

I definitely started talking slower because I got tired of having to repeat everything I said 700 times  We were in the states on holiday last year actually and we got chatting to an American couple from Mississippi one night and I was telling them a story, spent a a good 10 minutes blabbing on and when I finished they both just stared at me blankly and said they had no idea what I just said :fist:
