No panic buying for me but this Beast storm has cost me a new shock absorber on my car....drove into a dirty great pot hole hidden by the snow which wrecked my front shocker :fist: Was loving the snow until then

Bloody freezing wind here today and some snow flurries but much better conditions than yesterday, think we got off fairly lightly

smudgie 28-02-2018 04:02 PM

Okay, still snowing here, just noticed that the house over the road has massive icicles hanging from the gutter.
First time I have seen that in the 25 years we have lived here.

Walked the pup around the block, she loved the snow. Wish I got it on video, but I didn't want her to be out for too long as she's only little.

That's what you get for putting them next to weight watchers.

id say around 7" of powder snow, drifting around this morning. Just done the drive and paths, snow had drifted right up the door to the letterbox.

Remember to feed the birds!

No way that's mental :joker: , but if you go out there's barely any transport and it's too risky . Most places have the red warning .

But your glasses can be collected next week ?? no? :conf:.

Maybe the panic buying wasn't such a bad idea... All shops in the village are shut and both roads out of the village are closed. :umm2: 'tis indeed a wintery apocalypse! And we ate all of our snacks yesterday :fist:.

I think I might also have to have white coffee instead of full lattes to ration milk. :bawling: someone please send help!

:joker::joker: really glad I had my weekly shop delivered 2days early.
Now hoping it all clears up before we run out of anything.
Always have a box of 6litres of long life in the garage TS.

Ammi 01-03-2018 09:32 AM

..I had a hospital appointment so I had to drive out...the main roads are ok...I think the small roads are pretty grim though...I popped into town on the way back...it was eerily quiet, no panic buyers.....I’m not sure how many shops are open because I only went to the Bank and that’s opening for shorter hours atm ....

Nicky91 01-03-2018 09:37 AM

Ohhh, just had a thought, couldn’t get my insulin yesterday as they only keep small supplies at the pharmacy, supposed to be getting it in today hopefully.
But made me think, what about people stuck in the sticks, needing meds, or midwives etc. The helicopters will be working overtime, providing its blizzard free.
