:joker: The other thread. In regards to her Queen of Pop status, no other artist is referred to AS the Queen of Pop because they haven't made as much of an impact as she has and ever will.

Some of the following links are from credible music magazines like Rolling Stone, Billboard and NME - and they ALL say M is the Queen of Pop, so a poll on TIBB (created to annoy M fans while desperately trying to score brownie points from others) quite frankly means bugger all, tbh. :joker:

It's strange how we never see anybody try to dethrone and strip Michael Jackson of his "King Of Pop" status by saying Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown, or Justin Bieber" is the King of Pop (even though MJ's been dead for 10 years). Elvis Presley is still referred to as "The King of Rock N Roll" and we don't see anyone trying to steal that from him. Donna Summer is also still known as the "Queen of Disco" and anyone with any knowledge of music should know this.

Madonna will always be the Queen of Pop and nothing can change that. Even those who previously bagged themselves an Oscar win / nomination didn't increase their chances of snatching Madonna's crown from her. Diana Ross didn't become the Queen of Pop, Disco, Jazz or anything else, Neither did Barbra Streisand or Cher, and it won't happen to anybody else either.

:wavey: Yeah,, she looks much better there, Reece, and she'll be polished to perfection in the new video. Can't wait.

Apparently there's an album listening party at one of the big labels in London tonight - which means it won't be long now.

This version of Erotica is a stroke of genius. It's so different and yet produces a very similar aural backdrop of 'erotica'.

It's funny you posted this because I watched that show again last night and forgot how good it was. That opener was amazing.

Nancy. 25-01-2019 06:50 PM

Looks like a small clip from the new video.

Was there ever a studio version of that rendition of Erotica?

Nancy. 25-01-2019 06:58 PM

Title of the first single is "Batuka" (apparently).

Yes, it's the (Kenlou B-Boy Mix) on the maxi single.

I am really impressed Madonna’s team have kept everything so top secret.

It looks like we could literally get a music video, press release and album cover all at once without a hint of any preview.

Totally different to the Rebel Heart fiasco where it leaked 3 months before the official release date.

Yes, I have a feeling this album is going to be a big hit for her. Everything is pointing in that direction, tbh.

Batuka is a Mirwais production too, but you'd never guess looking at the clip above.

I've just been watching a video of Madonna putting together her MDNA tour. Watch from 3:12 onwards. What a genius.

Nancy. 26-01-2019 08:40 AM

It's great to see you guys posting here again. :hee:

Here's some information a fan posted about what we saw in the clip here:

This will be probably one of the concepts of her next tour or the next era:

"As a dance, the traditional batuque follows a precise ritual.

In a batuque session, a group of performers (almost always just women) gather themselves in a circle in a scenario that is called terreru [teˈʀeɾu]. This scenario does not have to be a precise location, it may be a back yard in a house or it may be a public square, for instance.

The musical piece begins with the players (that may be simultaneously or not batukaderas and kantaderas) executing the first movement, while one of the players goes to the center to perform the dance. In this first movement the dance is made only with body swinging, with an alternate movement of the legs playing the downbeat.

In the second movement, while the players perform the rhythm and sing in unison, the dancer changes the dancing. Now, the dancing (called da ku tornu [dɐ ku ˈtoɾnu]) is made with a hip swing managed through the quick flexion of the knees, accompanying the rhythm.

When the song is over, the dancer pulls back and another takes her place, and a new song begins. These performings may last for hours until the end of the batuque session."

I’ve only ever heard the dance remix/single version of what it feels like for a girl but i heard the album version today and it’s so gorgeous :bawling: i think it’s a lot better actually

Hi, :hee:

I agree with you, Sullen Girl. Other fans seem to prefer the remix over the album version but it's not for me i'm afraid. Give me the album version all day long. lol

Ugh so good
There’s actually SO many good songs on RH for such a cluttered album.

Ghosttown would’ve smashed if a younger singer sang it tbh

Saph 27-01-2019 09:21 AM

Living for Love was such a bad decision as lead single. Its not even one of the strongest on the album!

Messiah, SEX, Holy Water, Inside Out, Wash all over me, Unapologetic Bitch, Best Night and Devil Pray deserved the best and all got cast aside for LFL and Bitch Im Madonna which was a mess :skull:

Yeah, I agree. LFL has always felt like a demo to me, and it needed more work to it. The chorus isn't strong enough to be a Madonna single. Such a shame she removed the "Lord Lord Lift me" part otherwise it would've been so much better.

Love love love "Devil Pray". I always wanted that to be a single but it wasn't to be. Oh well. :wavey:

Madonna to perform at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019

According to the latest Ynet scoop, Madonna is about to sign a $1,5 million deal to perform 2 songs at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Ynet reports that Israeli-Canadian billionaire Sylvan Adams will finance the appearance of Madonna at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. A figure that the Israeli broadcaster would not have been able to afford.

Apparently, Adams has been in on-going discussions about financing Madonna’s appearance for around a month and is now ready to sign a deal with her.

“Sylvan Adams he devotes his life to branding and strengthening the state of Israel by bringing sports events to culture and innovation,” Sylvan’s business partner informed Ynet. “We are in round-the-clock negotiations with Madonna’s people and we hope that in the next few days we will sign her arrival at the Eurovision Song Contest in Israel.”

“Sylvan Adams believes that the participation of an artist like Madonna in the Eurovision will significantly increase the exposure and media coverage of the Eurovision Song Contest and the events that accompany it and through Madonna’s visit to Israel, millions will be exposed to the wonderful people and beauty of the State of Israel,” adds Sylvan’s business partner.

Apparently, a deal is set to be signed by Sylvan Adams and Madonna’s management in the next couple of days.

Tel Aviv will host the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in the Expo Tel Aviv (International Convention Centre) on May 14, 16 and 18 2019.

For those who don't know, The Eurovision Song contest has the BIGGEST viewing ratings EVER - and almost attracts DOUBLE the amount of viewers who tune in to watch the Super Bowl every year. (Another event Madonna performed at in 2012 and was highly praised for without resorting to DESPERATE antics like pretending to throw herself off the roof or trying (and failing miserably) to do somersaults on wires).

186 million viewers tuned in to watch Eurovision Song Contest in 2018 and it was once again the world's biggest live music event. Madonna's appearance will attract even more. Can't wait.

Nancy. 03-02-2019 08:43 PM

and while we're on the subject of the Super Bowl. Here's Madonna's incredible performance. Expensive looking production, fantastic songs, great dancing, pure talent and zero try hard moments (Unlike others).

Nancy. 03-02-2019 09:24 PM

"No gimmicks, or guests to upstage her" is clearly shade thrown at Madonna for getting Nicki Minaj and LMFAO on stage with her...yet I came for the other woman, apparently. :joker:
