It was a tedious game to watch definitely.
Sadly.
Because these 2 teams are capable of playing explosive matches.

Cherie 10-02-2021 08:19 AM

Terrible borefest, I went to bed after the goal, as I couldn't see another being scored

Nicky91 10-02-2021 01:43 PM

cup football players mentality is completely different than in the league

that is a fact, not just in england but in other countries too

today i'll say Man City hasn't just won that against Swansea, but they gotta fight for their place, and this is basically the place for lower level teams to show what they are capable of

good on Bournemouth beating Burnley last night :clap1:

tonights big game Everton - Spurs, considering what weak form Spurs are in atm and hopeless without Kane, i can see Everton win it, however again i also would say if a time to get back into form, this would be the nice place to do so, not ruling out a Spurs win either

Brother Leon 17-04-2021 06:56 PM

Chelsea knock out Man City.

Winning The Treble isn’t for everyone.

Cherie 17-04-2021 09:16 PM

Chelsea bossed Citeh all over the Park

Swan 15-05-2021 04:08 PM

Crimson Dynamo 15-05-2021 04:09 PM

i want leicester to win, but i think chelsea will grind out a win

Swan 15-05-2021 04:15 PM

It'll be a good omen for Chelsea to win here, last time we won the CL, we won the FA Cup that year too.

Swan 15-05-2021 04:17 PM

Kepa in goal though smh

AnnieK 15-05-2021 04:17 PM

I can't decide if I want Leicester or Chelsea. Can't stand Vardy but quite like Brendan as manager. Want Chelsea to beat City in CL though for sure

Its bad enough that they've won the PL, I know far too many City fans who will be unbearable if they win the CL too  its the only stick I have left to beat them with (other than come back when you've won 21) 😂

Yes I want Chelsea to beat Man City too in the Champions league.

I want Chelsea today too but what a tedious match it is so far.

Swan 15-05-2021 05:29 PM

It's been terrible so far

Zizu 15-05-2021 05:54 PM

Players are so drilled to claim every throw in or free kick that it’s getting ridiculous now ..

Azpulueta just smashed a cross into the Leicester youngster who automatically raised his arm claiming it ricocheted back into Azpulueta even though it was abundantly clear to everyone in the stadium that it was about three metre away from hitting the Chelsea guy .

I’m just sick of all the flaming cheating nowadays , feigning injury, shirt pulling and blocking off in the penalty box ...

What a pass from Thiago Silva for the equaliser... if allowed

Edit - off side

I’ll be glad when this is over ... it’s a nightmare when both teams play in all blue normally ..

Maddison looks like he’s running on sand already and he’s only been on the pitch about 10 minutes !

Boring game but think the right team won

Swan 15-05-2021 06:20 PM

Right team won. Thought the Chelsea goal was level. But piss pour performance from us. Great save from Kasper.

Well done LCFC.

Crimson Dynamo 15-05-2021 06:24 PM

right team won and what a 5 years that club have had

amazing times to be a Fox

Cherie 15-05-2021 06:25 PM

BBC team are incredibly biased, the goal was milimeters offside anyone would think it was a mile they haven't mentioned it once yet. Very suspicious looking handball as well that never went to VAR what is all that about

The all wanted the story for Leicester I am afraid

Stop drawing lines on the screen for off-sides (offside was never meant to be micro-analysed like that)

or

Only use it for penalty box decisions.

The offside decision.

It's not even clear when the ball leaves the player's foot. Unless you are going to use high-speed cameras it is useless for close offside decisions.

100% agree with that, it's clear who they wanted to win!

I've heard in Germany (or might have been Holland) that they deliberately make the lines a lot wider, then if there's any overlap they say its too close to call and its declared onside

Makes a lot more sense

It’s probably for the best if you’re not a fan of either team ... it means that Chelsea will be possibly even more determined to win the CL Final ..

I don’t support Chelsea but there were some very dubious decisions in that game

A hand ball shout shout go to VAR

Dogeatdog 16-05-2021 12:00 AM

Weren’t the best final tbh but happy for Leicester nonetheless. Thought Werner was crap upfront today.

James 16-05-2021 12:29 AM

The only thing keeping VAR alive in its current form, is that half the fans are always going to be in favour of a decision.

Unlike something like the Super League where everyone was against it, and it went away as quickly as it started.

bots 16-05-2021 06:46 AM

players cheat, and with var, rather than sorting mistakes, it's changed the nature of the cheat.

I didn't watch the game, ive watched so many of these finals that have been dire

Could AI automated offside be the answer to VAR.

Automated offsides could be in use in Premier League by 2023 after success of secret trials

Fifa hopeful that ‘game-changing’ technology using artificial intelligence will also be in place for 2022 World Cup

Hawk-Eye has been testing its “skeletal player tracking system” at one Premier League club this season, with more trials planned at Liverpool, Chelsea and the two Manchester clubs next campaign

MIKE HEWITT/GETTY IMAGES

Martyn Ziegler, Chief Sports Reporter

Thursday May 27 2021, 5.00pm, The Times

New technology designed to instantly detect offsides by using artificial intelligence is on course to be introduced in the Premier League in two years’ time after “extremely promising” results from secret tests at one top-flight club and with more trials planned at four English stadiums next season.
The automated offside system would replace the controversial VAR offside lines and should provide match officials with an instant message sent to their watch when a player is offside, instead of what is now often a wait of a minute or longer — which has led to frustration among players, managers, pundits and fans. The referee and assistants would then have to judge only if the attacker deemed offside was interfering with play.

Sadly Pundits and Commentators are very biased.

I remember earlier on in the season when it was Blues vs Huddersfield, we had about 3 or 4 shots back to back that went narrowly wide, yet when Huddersfield skied one over the bar the Sky Sports Pundit said "best chance of the game so far."

I personally believe that VAR has a place in Football if handled properly, sadly Football has made two mistakes with VAR though.

1. A body part being in an offside position shouldn't actually count as offside. It should clearly be most of the body being in an offside position means your offside but the geniuses that run Football can't see that simple solution.

2. Is some of the terrible decisions that Referees have made around handball, again it should only be an offence if the player is deliberately stopping the ball from going in the net, or a player trying to pull off another Hand Of God moment.

Subjectively I'd like these VAR decisions to be decided quicker so the match doesn't lose it's flow.

But yes I don't get fans that get a kick out of the wrong decisions that VAR makes, even if it favours their team.
