It will be interesting to see if Andrew is allowed to attend his father's funeral.

Prince Philip wouldn't have been happy with the Horse racing been taken off and moved to a different channel. He loved the horse racing.

Crimson Dynamo 09-04-2021 05:50 PM

Oh yes it's the worst thing poor Philip had ever been through - a minor family tiff. Shocking stuff.

I'm sure the Queen could have done without those 2 self absorbed twats and their tales of woe giving off while her husband lay dying.
Lies and disloyalty and insensitivity at a hard time for the Queen and family = a minor family tiff? Okay.

Even crims are let out of prison to pay respects  so I expect so!

Amy Jade 09-04-2021 06:02 PM

Have they taken all the soaps off the repeat he's passed away all evening?

Apparently, according to the papers the only ones that will definitely attend are Charles and Camilla, Edward and Sophie, Anne and William and Kate. The rest will have to see if they make the mourners list including Andrew, Harry and the other grandchildren.

Edited to add.....obviously the Queen too

He's actually not portrayed that badly in the Crown a part from implying he might have have had affairs earlier on in the series which apparently has truth to it

Surprised Andrew isn't there considering he's his son, to do with the allegations maybe?

I suspect that as the country is now in mourning, all entertainment, including TV shows are to be suspended for the period of mourning, up to and on the day of the funeral.

I understand that was the protocol when we only had three terrestrial TV stations, so why shouldn't it be the same now?

Seriously? Good luck with that in this age of technology [emoji28]

Not really surprising, a royal death will always dominate channels.

Even when he's been ill in the past, it's been the news story all day .

when diana died it was grim, it was just constant on every channel. The queen mum and margaret were different, and I think this will be the same as them

Quite sad to hear this news. He certainly played a big part in the life of the country over a long time.

RIP.

I've not watched it but I imagine it is a heightened version of what really happened.

When you look around social media (like I do sometimes) it is obvious that a lot of Americans have got their view on individual royals from this show.

Alf 09-04-2021 07:08 PM

The referee on the darts isn't even screaming the scores out.

Usually he'll scream one hundred and eighhhhhty. But not tonight, he's just saying 180, quietly. I'm guessing this is down to the Duke of Edinburgh's death.

Yeah I wouldn't take it as gospel but it's a good show, I didn't think it would be something I'd like at all but I did
