Letter to the DT
SIR – Following the Blackpool South by-election result, the usual
Conservative suspects came on air to warn us that voting for Reform UK may let in Labour, and that its voters should hence continue to support the Government, despite its track record. I always want to ask these people if they would run a business this way. If they had hired someone who presented well at interview, but who, once installed, proved dishonest, incompetent, lazy, spendthrift and unwilling to carry out any of the agreed work, would they keep on paying that person for fear of hiring someone even worse? The Conservative Party needs to be ejected from office as a goal in itself, because if it is not, it will not change. This is entirely separate from the question of who replaces it. It will then be up to the party to reflect in opposition on where it went wrong, and return to the electorate in due course with a Conservative offering. J P Redman London NW11 |

The woman chosen to stand for Mayor in London was a horrible candidate.
The terrible judgement in choosing her from the Cons only highlights their incompetence. As for former Con voters voting for Reform party. This arrogant PM and his backside crawling Ministers, just don't get those voters don't much care whether Labour now wins. They just have decided this government has to be gone. Their arrogance to think just saying vote Reform get Labour matters shows how detached from reality this PM is Those voters don't care if Labour gets in, they just want this Con government OUT. |
Professor Michael Thrasher
on Trevor Phillips SkyNewsHD pointed out Starmer has to get more than Blair did. Labour must get 326 seats, in the next General Election. It is a Huge number. On Thursday Local Election it was Labour at 7 point ahead. They would have to Double that. Thrasher's Numbers are also in the Sunday Times. Trevor's show in full is replayed on YouTube "Possible" Hung Parliament. Due to The smaller Parties and Gaza Vote blockages |

34% over 25% is a 9 difference. Not 7. So he's wrong on that . There were NO elections in Scotland and only Police crime commissioner ones in Wales.. So no hard data from there . Plus in local elections, the Independent candidates take a higher share of votes than they ever do in general elections Selective analysis of results is fine for fun. However not always the best guide.. However hey, a hung parliament is fine by me in fact my wish for PR would only give hung parliaments. A hung parliament would be the end of this shambolic government because there's no other party in parliament ( maybe the DUP possibly might),which would support this present Con party as a governing force. So fine by me. |
Come on Labour. Really rooting for them.
They can't be any worse than the Tories. |
[However hey, a hung parliament is fine by me]
Sure but Labour will not like that. |

However under this outdated and unrepresentative election system we have, realistically there can only be either a Con led government or Labour led government. So the surest way to get this shower of a disaster hard-line heartless CON government out, is to vote Labour. Where Lib Dems are the only alternative however in some seats too, it would be better voting Lib Den there to help get the Cons out too. |
i think the seats that labour would pick up in Scotland would give labour a good majority. It can't be ignored that labour will do much better there

1950 to 1951. 1964 to 1966. 1974 then right through to 1979. They'd manage because they can compromise which is something the Cons don't. A Labour minority supported by the Lib Dems, or even Greens if they had a few more seats. Or even the SNP. All that could work pretty well in my view.. A Labour/ Lib Dem coalition or pact could work too. It did in the late 70s for a fair period of time. |
Yes Joey Sure they would have to
deal with it. And Scotland is the key to the Labour increase |

Sunak has some audacity to warn of coalition under Labour
When his Party inflicted heartless hard-line policies in COALITION with the LibDems for a full 5 years. They the Cons were propped up after 2017, by of all Parties the extreme DUP . What utter hypocrisy from Sunak. So only the Cons are allowed coalitions or support from other Parties, no other. Their ignorance and arrogance just gets worse |

the leader of the Green Party (Carla Denyer) Live On BBC/Sky/Ch4 yesterday, was not aware of this winner who is an Extreme Muslim winner of the Greens. [The moment a Green Party councillor shouts 'Allahu Akbar' after being elected in Leeds] https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/05...4944138216.jpg |

Perhaps @TheGreenParty you may want to investigate your Councillor for
Gipton & Harehills seat Mohin Ali, to confirm this alleged @X post is true. (he deleted the account at the weekend...) https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GM1I6e6W...g&name=900x900 https://x.com/DaveAtherton20/status/1787165282445754798 |
[Perhaps @TheGreenParty you may want to investigate your Councillor for
Gipton & Harehills seat Mohin Ali] Yes today I hope Good on the DM to cover this Extreme Muslim in HER Party |

Nor the co- leader of the Greens either. Why do they need 2 leaders??? Caroline Lucas I really admire and she is a good representative of the Greens but Carla Denyer comes across not genuine, sorry for saying that. She comes across to me as hiding real intentions of how far she'd want to go re controlling others lives on green issues. |
[I'm not sure Carla Denyer has much idea of candidates really.]
Sure but they all asked her yesterday so by today she can say that an Extreme Muslim is wrong |
Lucas is standing down
So do not need her NOW |

She's another who avoids dealing with more controversial matters. |

No By now Conservative or Labour or LibDem would have spoken on this Extreme Muslim Winner. |

Plus the media tend to try to or more overlook ( for want of a better description), the Green Party's secrecy and lack of transparency. Or candidate issues too. |

SkyNews Text :
[The Greens are facing fury over their failure to suspend a councillor who launched a hate-filled tirade against a rabbi] https://liveblog.digitalimages.sky/l...ca90ee95d.jpeg |
Back in February Daily Mail feature writer Guy Adams presented the Greens with a dossier
of offensive comments made by Mr Ali, including the tirade against Rabbi Deutsch, who was later forced into hiding. The Greens are a disgusting party that they did not act on this |
[When Hamas terrorists gleefully recorded themselves
kidnapping, raping and killing Israeli civilians on October 7 2023, their actions were accompanied by unmistakeable cries of ‘Allahu Akbar!’ The same is true of Taliban fighters in Afghanistan, and of Islamic extremists the world over. The phrase, meaning God is great, has become, I’m afraid, their battle cry. So when Mothin Ali, the newly elected Leeds City councillor for the Green Party, who celebrated his win with the same victory cry, claims that criticism of his behaviour amounts to ‘Islamophobia’, he is being more than a little disingenuous. Yes, to many Muslims it is simply an exclamation of religious fervour, but he must know full well what associations those words also have for survivors and families of the victims of Islamist atrocities, for Jews in Britain — and for all of us who fear the rise of religious extremism. They are, as the young people say, a bit of a trigger.] That text came DM+ you have to pay to go on those posts. But if you are fast when you first click it.
