It's not like I don't care about people with infractions or bans, I've said more times then I care to remember that if you have a problem to talk to us as we do make mistakes and sometimes we act a bit too quickly so if you make a good case we can do overturn infractions and such. I just don't care for the members that can't be civil and fly off the handle, those kind of members are ticking timebombs and will always end up leaving and I'm not going to waste my time on somebody who can't be civil.

That's the only thing I ask of members if they wish to talk to me about mod or infraction stuff, it's the members who act like children I won't give no time to.

Perhaps if you also stop the 'you and us' mentality people will respect you more? Sorry but Mods are no better than users

If I've got a mentality it's because it's been installed in me by hostility from other members. I always try to be warm and friendly and ultimately if people bother to talk to me in PM, Also I don't wear my mod hat all the tiem and I regurlarly post in the forum, if I had such a mentality I wouldn't be able to intergrate as well as I do surely?

Have to leave, it's past 5 here already, and I am a working person ;)

I wish all of you a good night, and unmoderated dreams :joker:

I understand that. As I said I've been there myself and you do become very defensive. But even during BB the barriers were lower than they are now and 'off season' is usually much more relaxed. At the moment I've never known it so angsty :(

11 infractions are a lot, it's not surprising he's on a week long ban.

I might be misreading the forum but I find it to be much more relaxed in the last few days and we don't get nearly as many reports as we used to. I think it's just a minority of members causing the tension really. If i'm honest I've never known Tibb to feel this friendly, usually you have cliques going off at each other and endless arguments but that's not the case. It's a situation where the loud minority are overpowering the quiet majority.

I guess all I know is the people I get along with are unrested. I don't correspond really 'outside' the forum (MSN and suchlike) so can only go on what I see here so I may be absolutely wrong but a gut feeling..... somethings not right :(

If people are leaving it is not because of overly-harsh or unfair moderating, more likely people not sticking to the rules and causing arguments.

Try looking into the reasons for the infractions, 8 because he winged about a certain permanently banned member being allowed back, surely a private word from a mod, explaining the situation would have cleared up that up without the need for a harsh punishment?

Yeah whenever anyone complains about moderating decisions even if they have PM'ed staff with or without receiving a reply they are pretty much automatically infracted for causing drama, its a good coverall.

Its a question of having dealt with drama putting it to the side and moving on, life is exactly the same, you will become embittered if you always dwell on past battles and view everyone with suspicion.

Look at the circumstances of those infractions.

What else can people do if they cant see Mods active on the forum? They know some mods are there but because the mods are "invisible" ro non staff they cant PM so they get fustrated and feel they have to post on the forum.

Yes I think you are misreading the forum, there may be less of those you view as troublemakers posting on the forums. The cliques are still there, it may just be because one of the group of cliques has staff as members.

Lets face it there were members on here accusing another member of what is classed as an international crime, yet mods just stood by and watched, yes I know the member was warned he even posted how he had only been warned. Just like a couple of nights ago another member even stated that people had deliberately ganged up against someone who recently copped for a ban.

Funny how that comment and a few others were deleted, but not by the member posting it, aint it. Of course there is no conspiracy but lets face it staff here dont like to be questioed or challenged on their decisions do they, thats at least an infraction isnt it?

Seeing as the permanently banned member was me and you've brought that up, I feel the need to comment.

Just to get things clear, he wasn't just moaning he told me to go and die, called me possibly the worse swear name in the world. He kept doing it constantly. Let's not make excuses, he is a grown man. Old enough to be my dad. It is common sense to know you don't say anything like that and not expect to be dealt with. His hate for me is unbelievable and it is not just me who notices it. His hate for me stemmed back before I got the permanent ban too so it was just an excuse for him to throw more insults at me.

I'm sure he doesn't need a word with a mod regarding me coming back as there was a thread already. Most got over it and unfortunately he still hasn't.

Sounds very dramatic Thomas, incidentally what is the worst swear word in the world, as opposed to copping some points for swearing on the forum, could you send it to me in a PM? I may not have been on at the time he was constantly calling you it.

Yeah i know he didnt appreciate your humour but then again its horses for courses.

Maybe he is a bit stuck in his ways, but think about it logically, you posting the above hasnt really helped heal the wounds has it?

And you may not care what people with bans or infractions think. Why should you? Think again at Xmas though when the forums dead. Trust me, I've seen it

What a stupid thing to say, every forum is generally more dead at Christmas because it's the busiest times of the year for people, Bans or infractions have nothing to do with it

it's crazy that people are saying these forum is dying or is dead. when earlier on there were 63 members online and it's not even an X-factor night

Kerry 02-11-2010 04:03 AM

Off for an hour's kip
