This is what it looked like in Old Market Square Nottingham near Christmas time I think 2 years ago. :)

It looks the same this year but the Christmas tree is in the middle of the outdoor ice rink. :)

Twice. This was my first visit to Cockington even though I visited Torquay many times. It was less than ten minutes by car from Torquay.

Second time was I had to go back to the pub restaurant to pick my shawl up I forgot the previous day when I had my lunch there.:p

I had fish pie and glass of wine. After that, instead of having desert, I opted for Irish Coffee. :) (I copied this smily from you,)

When it's near Christmas time they put a outdoor ice rink in Old Market Square but people have to get the tickets at the Ice Arena. :)

Last year they didn't have a outdoor ice rink they had a Winter Wonderland theme. But glad the outdoor ice rink is back. :)

The last time I went ice skating was when the old ice arena was there in the 90s, the same ice rink where Torvill and Dean first ice skated together years ago. :)

I remember feeling scared to let go of the edge of the ice rink. lol :joker: Then I tried to be brave by ice skating to the other side of the ice rink. I ice skated to the other side but when I got to the middle of the ice rink I thought I was going to fall but I didn't. Lol :joker:

I probably can't ice skate that well but I do want ice skating lessons one day. :)

Last year I heard someone say at the Ice Arena something about the old ice rink was where Torvill and Dean practice their Bolero and I think they came up with their Bolero routine there.

The person pointed to where Torvill and Dean performed Bolero and I was thinking that's the same ice rink that I went to a few years ago. In the 90s I didn't even know I went to the same ice rink that they went to because I never heard of them until 2006 when Dancing On Ice started. :amazed:

There was a small ice arena but they replaced it with a bigger ice arena and Jayne Torvill and I think Christopher Dean too opened the new ice arena. :)

I wonder if that picture was taken in the Council house in Old Market Square? Legends. :)

Aww I wish I was born when they won Bolero so I could of got to watch them perform Bolero and win. I heard a lot of people watched them perform that day. Did you watch them perform Bolero in 1984? Was it live on tv? :)
