Overall though this show has been a huge success for C5. With any luck that means its future could be secured well beyond 2014.

We all expected them to drop after Dazelgate but they keep growing week on week.

Its weird because I have found the last week very dull yet the ratings have been better than the far more interesting episodes.

Amazing ratings

LouCipher 27-07-2013 04:38 PM

it's irrelevant what the ratings were for Dan's eviction. What happens after his eviction is critical. I am irate that BB did this stupid twist, to get out a fav HM --THE HOUSEMATE'S FAV (they wouldn't have nominated him)-- as if it would be exciting.

It's crap. People claim "I won't watch anymore" but probably will here and there (maybe on eviction night). But I WON'T --I REFUSE-- to watch the HL shows now that Dan has left. Only Dan, Dexter and Gina were intriguing... the rest are mimbos/bimbos... boring.

Watch the ratings plummet in the abyss now.
Well done, BB.

CaudleHalbard 27-07-2013 04:40 PM

As I have said before it is the average ratings over the 10 weeks that will matter to advertisers and sponsors who are the main source of income for the show

It's crap. People claim "I won't watch anymore" but probably will here and there (maybe on eviction night). In this last week, in fact, over the last decade, I never missed a single BB HL show. If I couldn't make it in time, I caught the rerun on E4, and eventually DVR/tivo came out -- life was easy, never missed a show. But I WON'T --I REFUSE-- to watch the HL shows now that Dan has left. Only Dan, Dexter and Gina were intriguing... the rest are mimbos/bimbos... boring. I know for certain I won't watch because in this last week, I watched two HL shows off Youtube, so I could FF over most of it. I commented on how boring it has gotten this season and that if Dan got evicted, I'd quit watching altogether.

I'm not the only one who'll stop watching because 1/3 last interesting HMs left. Watch the ratings plummet into the abyss now.
Well done, BB.

CaudleHalbard 27-07-2013 04:46 PM

I think some are forgetting that Dan was the most unpopular of the three housemates up for eviction..... Hence he got evicted!

Logic suggests that the ratings may now in fact go up since someone who is presumably regarded as an irritant has been voted out.

If we assume that Thursday got around 50k on +1 (which would make it 1.50m incl +1), here are all the ratings from Sat:

Saturday- 1.07m
Sunday- 1.68m
Monday- 1.55m
Tuesday- 1.39m
Wednesday- 1.59m
Thursday- 1.50m
Friday- 1.78m

Week 6 average- 1.51m

Week by Week overnight average

Week 1- 1.60m
Week 2- 1.32m
Week 3- 1.37m
Week 4- 1.42m
Week 5- 1.53m
Week 6- 1.51m

Cannot wait for the officials on Monday for W5 and now can't wait for last nights officials, it must be around 2.1m surely.

That would make the series average 1.458 or 1.46m so far

So BB3 is the highest rated BB ever?

Not surprised by that, EVERYONE was talking about it that summer.

Good times.

aman201 27-07-2013 06:44 PM

BB10 rightfully the worst rated BB in the C4 era. :D

BB13 got 1.6m, not 1.8m. It's been cleared up that it 100% got 1.6m. Currently BB14 is on 1.8m.

It never made sense that BB13 got 1.8 when the last months ratings were awful.

Cant wait for the officials im just so pissed off that loads of plus 1,s are missing.

Rob! 27-07-2013 07:23 PM

This series really has done great. Production must be very pleased. :) to think we were so worried on launch night!

daniel-lewis-1985 27-07-2013 07:28 PM

I remember seeing that awful part 1 launch rating and thinking ***** goodbye BB.

Then the 2nd launch was gutted for Emma and the team, you could tell she was bummed out.

But had a feeling ratings would climb and for the first time we have officials over 2 million for non launch nights.

Sallies eviction pretty much matched launch night.

All we need is it to stay like this for a good average and a pleased Channel 5 but it would be another massive bonus if the final got surprisingly high ratings (2.5 or something just to bump it up).

Hows this for cheeky:

The intro to a news piece on Channel 4 News website, about the massive popularity of BB in South Africa:

Quote:

While Big Brother UK struggles to attract viewers, its African equivalent grows ever more popular. Now in its eighth season, it is the continent's biggest reality show.
Yeah....struggling to attract viewers yet it beats current Channel 4 line up :p

Bitter much?
