I am curious about the phones. Are they only able to message each other? I am suspicious as to how they would be able to block messages from other numbers.

I think the phones work the same way as those laminate things do in BB where they get given information/instructions via the phone and the person who received the text then reads it out to the whole island or something or I think they all get the messages. I've never seen the Islanders being able to call/text eachother indivdually or anything like that iirc
