I do reckon that they're going to head down the toxic relationship path with Rainie/Stuart though.

Doesn't she start to develop feelings for Kush as well? She clearly likes older men after the whole Mr Price incident

I did think Kush and Bex going for a coffee the other day was a bit strange, and yeah... that's probably why I feel uncomfortable whenever Bex shares any scene with an older man.

Rainie's scenes are always my favourites. She's great.

I do think it's a great idea to pair her with Stuart story-wise as they have a similar history. Just the only thing with him is they went so big with him early on with framing Mick for shooting him.

They obviously didn't intend him to stick around originally, and now they're hoping having zero contact with the Carters will allow the viewers to forget his extreme behaviour.

It's worked for Sonia. :joker:

I'm really enjoying that they are focusing on Rainie's recovery. I feel with most addiction storylines they put a lot of focus on the addiction and put very little effort into the actual recovery phase - Lauren for example was rehabilitated off-screen, and Phil's many recoveries have been criminally underdeveloped.

Pairing her and Stuart I agree is a great idea and it's amazing how they've already managed to turn Stuart into a semi-decent character after I couldn't stand him throughout most of his storyline with the Carters (though the two-hander with him and Linda I thought was great). But yeah, John Yorke obviously meant for Stuart to leave at the end of that storyline but Kate wanted to tackle developing his character more rather than just axing him.

They've been written pretty well so far, in terms of building them up as strong, independent characters before establishing the gritty nature of their history with Iqra's forced marriage etc. Like I've said before though, it's very similar to how Ronnie and Roxy were introduced.

This must be the storyline Tanya Franks was promised.

I was wondering why she'd return to be a side-piece to Max's baby drama, but she must've been told it's about Rainie's recovery and will be a slow burner.

But I'm really enjoying Stuart's presence now. He is so interesting. I think he's the type of character Kate Oates will do justice.

Gstar 17-03-2019 01:57 PM

Yeah Stuart has won me over too

What a trailer.

Who else is feeling excited about Easties for the first time since Live 2015 (Peggy’s death aside)?

Firewire 18-03-2019 08:29 PM

Ruby was excellent tonight.

Also the trailer looks really good, excited for the next few weeks ahead.
