That's what happens when marketing departments who are out of touch with the fanbase get a say in things. It reminds me of that advert they did for Halo : ODST. How much exactly did that piece of **** cost to produce? And how many additional people who have never played Halo decided to buy it based on an advert with no gameplay footage? |
Ew at the cover.
Still cant wait |
I quite like the cover really, it's a bit different but not a radical change.
|
I saw no reason to change it )=

Bad comparison, but you get the picture. |
Maybe it was to make it more eye catching? Most gamers that even vaguely like RPG's will get this but maybe they're trying to grab people who might not play them as often or something? I dunno.
|
Simple cover plz.
|
It's almost reverse laziness on SE's part  Instead of creating a simple cover for Europe they've just transferred the slightly more complex american cover.

The Famitsu review's in, it got 39/40. Here's the summary of each review.
10: "Although the game is linear until the midway point, the story is substantial, like no FF before it, with its own distinctive appeal. The battles based around changing characters' roles are fresh and highly strategic. The tempo is speedy and you get very excited when fighting strong enemies. Being able to restart battles is a user-friendly feature I'm happy about. 9: "Unquestionably the highest echelon of event and movie scenes. Moreover, changing Optimas on a dime, the varied abilities and being able to use multiple magics at once bring real exhilaration to the battles. That high quality is unfortunately offset by a story that stays linear until the midway point. The lack of gimmicks during the middle of the game also worried me." 10: "The overwhelming graphics expressing every nook and cranny of this unique world, along with the praiseworthy direction, moved me!! The battle system is applicable both to beginners and micro-managers. The fights progress quickly, and have ratings, so you never grow tired and can always battle with a feeling of urgency. The melancholic story is also so dramatic, you can't tear your eyes away from it." 10: "I doff my hat to the overwhelming graphics and story. Since the game's various systems become denser as the story progresses, you find yourself pulled ever deeper into the experience. The summon battles take careful planning and strategy, so I was frustrated a few times, but the feeling of achievement when you win is something special. You'll be sorry if you don't play this!" |

I recently played through FF8 with a friend for first time in years. It brought back so many memories and was a lot more enjoyable on my 2nd playthrough than my first.
Right now i decided to stick with my FF playing through and am playing FF9 with the same friend although there has been a bit of a delay due to my friend not being available for a few days. |
I was the same with FF8, I enjoyed it a lot more when I played it recently. I think it's because I was only like 8/9 when it first came out and I didn't understand it that much but I think it's a great game now. One of my favourite FF's in fact.
IGN have a great big feature on FF13, It's a non spoiling look at characters, summons and gameplay and stuff. It seems like they're bringing back a slightly different version of the Sphere Grid and Weapon Customisation from FFX. http://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/105/1055980p1.html |
Wow,The Final Fantasy looks fantastic.
I loved FF8 Much better the 2nd time round. Im currently on FF9 a new save |

I Forgot how Epic the start of FFX-2 was
Just been watching FF cutscenes for the last hour on youtube |
FFX's was more epic-er I thought.
Only two months let to go till FFXIII comes out, once that's out as well we'll start getting more info about XIII Versus. |

|
I played the games in this order;
X X-2 XII and now XIII Though I think I watched a friend playing VII when I was young, dont remember it too much, and I never completed XII |
I hope for the next game they go back to the old battle style, and actually let us control the action and USE OUR BRAINS
