OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDDDD I WAS ON MY FEET JUMPING UP AND DOWN THE WHOLE TIME OMFG x

Headie 11-08-2017 08:36 PM

Coburn doing what Jager couldn't

Headie 11-08-2017 08:37 PM

Championship Record as well!

Headie 11-08-2017 08:37 PM

Alol Lynsey Sharp is reinstated <3

Macie Lightfoot 11-08-2017 08:38 PM

omg I'm still upside down and in a split I've always loved Emma but I'm even happier for Courtney I think, literally NOBODY saw that coming, not even Americans :joker::joker::joker:

Macie Lightfoot 11-08-2017 08:38 PM

Emma and Courtney currently posing for the next cover of Track and Field News coming to a bookstore near you!

Macie Lightfoot 11-08-2017 08:41 PM

omg that was so emotional I'm not going to get over this one for a loooooong time. Like, the biggest thing for me is that the Kenyans are beatable? It's been soooooooooo perplexing that they've been so dominant despite having piss poor hurdling technique, but homegirl got ****ed up on that water jump and Emma and Courtney just took off on her!

The Kenyans have been poor this champs...

Headie 11-08-2017 08:42 PM

Lynsey Sharp re-instated with a "conduct warning" to her name :joker:

Headie 11-08-2017 08:43 PM

"Lynsey just linked arms with Lipsey... UNINTENTIONALLY, APPARENTLY" :skull:

I mean just with the history of steeplechase and how they've always been dominant, especially on the men's side, despite having the worst technique in the field.

Macie Lightfoot 11-08-2017 08:45 PM

Dina is so cute what a gem

Headie 11-08-2017 08:48 PM

Dina's gonna get 4th/5th, I'd be disappointed but considering her speedy recovery from a broken foot I'm just pleased she made the final fit and healthy tbh

Macie Lightfoot 11-08-2017 08:51 PM

yup, Asher-Smith 4th and Stevens 5th?

Headie 11-08-2017 08:51 PM

ANOTHER 4th lol what did we do to deserve this

Headie 11-08-2017 08:52 PM

Weirdly I'm so pleased for Dina? Her highest global champs placing ever and off the back of a broken foot she's fit and healthy

22.22 :o

Jack_ 11-08-2017 08:52 PM

I'm so pleased for her but NOT fourth this is so draining

It's like all those 4th's we got in swimming in Rio

Macie Lightfoot 11-08-2017 08:53 PM

I had Ta Lou and Miller switched which is kinda stupid in hindsight BUT other than that the top 6 was just as I predicted *pats myself on the back*

Headie 11-08-2017 08:53 PM

Michael was right, Dina's speed endurance is what cost her a medal, although Miller is a fast finisher anyway

Macie Lightfoot 11-08-2017 08:54 PM

Glad to see some fast times after half the field couldn't even break 23 in the semis :joker:

Headie 11-08-2017 08:54 PM

I literally CAN'T though like how do you break your foot at the end of February and run a 22.22 to be just outside a world medal? :o :o :o

She's honestly the best athlete we've had in a long time, even if she doesn't have the medals to prove it

Macie Lightfoot 11-08-2017 08:56 PM

lol I remember being OUTRAGED when Dina destroyed Kaylin Whitney (which l o l in hindsight) at World Juniors in 2014, but then I listened to her interview and she was nice as could be :joker: I'm a fan, she seems cute and fun.

She's one of my favourite GB athletes ever behind Christine Ohuruogu, she's just so nice and positive and I'm sure her time will come eventually

What ever happened to Whitney btw?

Headie 11-08-2017 09:03 PM

**** it she's going in my avi <3

You might've got 4th place hun but ur number 1 on TiBB xoxo

Macie Lightfoot 11-08-2017 09:07 PM

I think she signed pro too early tbh. Like her times were definitely good enough to warrant sponsorships and whatnot, but she hardly had any racing experience against high-level competition and it's a huge transition to go from being a high school athlete where you race a lot in a shorter season to a professional athlete where you race more sparingly over a longer period of time. That's why I think the NCAA is such a good stepping stone, because the D1 championships are insanely competitive and that's where so many athletes are made and learn their racing tactics and instincts from. Candace Hill is kind of in that same funk now too -- sure it's great that you can 10.98 against a bunch of high schoolers but when are you going to do that against anyone who's legit? That's why I'm actually really happy that Sydney McLaughlin is going to Kentucky next year rather than signing pro. The talent's there but now she'll get the time to develop into her own.

I don't really mind Whitney much tbh, but it's shady as could be that her training group is full of a bunch of drug cheats including her coach Dennis Mitchell. Between that and being completed usurped by Candace Hill a year later she's a complete nobody now.
