...wow, that really wasn’t what I thought, either....the first half seemed really slick and quite comedic, the way that they ‘took over’ the Parks house and were all employed with good jobs and incomes etc...from barely having anything to eat to starting to create a life for themselves and really turning their lives around..but it started to become more and more dark...I hated how Mr Park kept saying there was a ‘smell’ when he was speaking about another person and because of the sting bugs in their infested home..and yeah, they were all quite ‘parasitic’ I think, Niamh...the Kim’s obviously living off the Parks but the Parks also being fairly helpless without the Kim’s and relying on them completely for most aspects of their lives, even the care of their own children...that family living in such squalid conditions who all carried that same ‘stink bug smell’ that repelled Mr Parks so much...?...were more capable as a family unit of careers than the Parks were in their luxury....
I don’t know, as awful and as bloody and brutal as it all got, I really still rooted for the Kim’s and wanted that ending to be real and for them to live peacefully in that house together again......such a thought provoking film, I loved it but it was obviously very sad...to have everything can be just as ‘poor’ or even more poor than having nothing at all...
