Kind of looks by-the-numbers. Especially all the Mitchell stuff.

Sean's return and Jean's storyline, however. :clap1: And Ruby showing us her Allen. :worship:

Redway 18-03-2019 09:32 PM

“I’m Johnny Allen’s daughter and don’t you forget it.”

Marsh. 18-03-2019 09:40 PM

I'm glad they've finally referenced some of Ruby's past on the show.

Them mentioning Juley taking her virginity. :clap1:

They seemed to gloss over the fact Stacey treated her like sh*t before she left and opted for a "best friends forever".

I won't lie, that trailer hasn't exactly excited me. It doesn't look like anything is heading towards a climax any time soon.

Jean without her hair though :(

I love how Kate is remembering the past

Marsh. 19-03-2019 01:01 AM

Hopefully not too much, EE dwells on the past a tad too much.

I guess but recent years a lot of the past have just been forgotten or changed. Little mentions make it a lot better as long as it's not every episode

I feel the opposite. The last few years the show has been fine with mentions of the past with character returns. The gay man from the 80s episodes, Dr Legg's funeral episode, Michelle's recast which saw consistent reference to past Fowlers etc. Kat and Mel's returns last year, Louise becoming a regular, Lisa's guest stint. The show mixes the history with the present quite a lot. Sometimes to its detriment.

But, they do seem to have a strong balance now with a big focus on new characters too. Which also helps the older characters feel less stagnant by mixing them with new groups.

Remember messy Derek Harkinson's return

Yeah, I definitely felt that in last night's episode.

Ashley. 19-03-2019 12:16 PM

Mitch just reminds me of Alfie and I'm not here for it.

Aaliyah 19-03-2019 06:46 PM

Ruby Allen and Jean are the best characters on eastenders ATM

Stacey used to be good but now I can't wait for the bitch to go on maternity leave

Ant. 19-03-2019 09:43 PM

why has no one mentioned sausage surprise's return?

Or is that just a weekly thing we're all sick of?

(I watch one episode a week if that :hee:)

My mam tried to make sausage surprise a thing last weekend instead of takeaway...

Marsh. 19-03-2019 09:56 PM

Scott invited me round for sausage surprise a few weeks ago. It was NOT appetising.

Wouldn’t spotted dick be his signature dish?

MASSIVE NEWS

Spoiler:

EastEnders has revealed that Ted Murray will be returning to Walford soon, after seven months off screen.

Ted (Christopher Timothy) has been in Australia since last summer, when a health scare encouraged him to make the most of his life.

Ted's prolonged absence has left fans questioning if we'll ever see him again, but it's now been confirmed that he'll be arriving back in the Square next month.

Advanced spoilers released on the official EastEnders site have revealed that Bernadette will be left panicking when she learns that Ted is due back imminently.

Viewers know that Tiffany has been using Ted's flat to accommodate her drug dealing gang, meaning Bernadette now faces a race against time to prepare for his homecoming.

The teasers also reveal when Ruby Allen's rape trial will begin and hint at another nasty twist for Phil Mitchell.
