Thanks :) Of Course the 'New Year' is all just a metaphorical thought in my head, but still it does make you happy, or even euphoric in my case here.

It does symbolise a new beginning though. Can make you feel more positive :)

I know right. This has been the quickest year yet.

Each year seems to get quicker to me. I thought 2009 went quick, but not as fast as 2010, it really doesnt feel like we're 9 months in

Yeah, even though there was only a days difference between 31st December 09 and 1st January 2010 I already felt more positive and optimistic, hope you do too come January Raph :) It's just nice knowing that you can leave your troubles from the past 12 months behind and start afresh in a new year.

LOL - you big kid!

You'd like my sister-in-law. For my nephew, she makes an advent calendar with pouches in it. Each day has a little present in it like an SD card for his camera on a good day (or a chocolate, not so expensive things every day obviously)

This morning, I was in the kitchen, my husband was almost shouting at the next room, "Why do not you smile, miserable xxxxx!"

I thought he was talking to one of our cats as we often say that to them.

But when I went to the room, I found it was to the TV Daybreak new male presenter who looked like comedian Benny Hill.
