Lawless - 7/10

Guy Pearce stole the show really, although Shia LaBeouf was surprisingly amazing as well (only ever seen him in Transformers before this), and Tom Hardy delivered as always. I liked how the shootout at the end was kind of all over the place and handled realistically instead of in a typical hollywood way where every character suddenly becomes an action hero.

80's movies are great. Lethal Weapon is another one i watched recently. I love it. And Gary Busey is amazing on it! :amazed:

Not as great as I expected, very slow in places, but overall a very solid and well acted film.

The Purge - 5/10
I loved the premise but this was a missed opportunity.

Olympus Has Fallen - 8/10
Gerard Butlers best film imo (not exactly hard) and has a similar feel to some 80s/90s action movies (Die Hard/Speed etc). Morgan Freeman is great as always as is Melissa Leo. Terrific overall.

Star Trek Into Darkness - 9/10
Even better than the excellent 2009 reboot, mainly due to Benedict Cumberbatch and Zachary Quinto. The cast really makes this film, but the plot is gripping and special effects superb. JJ Abrams can do little wrong imo. Just brilliant.

Totally agree about Zero Dark Thirty, Olympus Has Fallen & Star Trek Into Darkness. I always see the spirit of the original Star Trek actors in Pine, Quinto, Urban & co. & agree the plot is brilliant. :wavey:

Niamh! You hate Twilight! Of course you're going to hate the second part! And of course I'm going to say it's marvellous! Actually, I think the last film is the best of all of them. But you're still going to hate it just to spite me, aren' t you...

The last one is the best of them all. I think Part 1 had to set you up for part 2 if you know what I mean. It was just one book wasn't it. Anyhoo, part 2 is far superior. I think you'll like it. Oh, and look out for the Irish vampires.

I didn't read the books but it seems to be the thing to do with these YA series now, to turn the last book into 2 films, doesn't it? I will watch it as much as I hated part 1, just because I've seen them all now so I may as well follow through to the end, I hate not finishing a series

I think they could have got Part 1 down to half an hour max. But it's the search for more money isn't it. The books are so much better anyway.

Completely agree, Angelina made a very beautiful Maleficent and it's actually one of my favourite films, the scenery is stunning, and the story is brilliant 10/10!
