Best viewing figures Channel 4 have got since, erm, Big Brother.

Will. 13-06-2015 09:31 AM

well its not bad considering it got no promotion what so ever!

It started trending after 10pm so could be big +1

Will. 13-06-2015 09:55 AM

Digital Spy haven't added the plus 1 on their ratings article

Maybe if Channel 5 tried that with Big Brother...

One day bettlejuice sadly they don't have a braincell between them

Jamesy 13-06-2015 10:24 AM

It doesn't help that C5 do naff all advertising

Rob! 13-06-2015 11:00 AM

C4 won the slot last night - God knows when that last happened. Fair play to them.

+1 should in theory be large but 1.2m is what I figured it would get anyway. Putting Helen in is a very risky move.

Lol it's true

I expected 1.2 for BB, totally didn't see 3.6 for TFI, I watched a few minutes during the breaks of BB and thought it was utter carnage, just seemed messy and a lot like Kids TV like SMTV or something, nonetheless, c5 have themselves to blame sticking almost solely to online marketing, it's cheaper but not always the most clever idea.

Jason. 13-06-2015 12:22 PM

Yes, keep blaming Helen for the low ratings.
That's why her series averaged 1.6m, and this current series is averaging 1.2m.

In all fairness, last night was always going to rate badly.
C5 really need to promote. They actually suck crap at promotion and advertising.

It's like they come up with an idea, and just execute it straight away, without letting everyone know. They only started showing Timewarp teasers like 12 hours before the show, and only on Channel 5, too.

If they were smart, they would've advertised it throughout the entire week, like they did with Armageddon, instead of the day before.

aman201 13-06-2015 12:24 PM

You guys missed out.

TFI was mint.

Her series was the worst ever and put a lot of people off (partly her fault, mostly the production team's). And now she's haunting a series that has managed to be even worse than hers.

TFI Friday was pretty amazing I would love to see what its peak was as it kind of trailed off a bit while Lewis Hamilton was droning on for about half an hour.

Will. 13-06-2015 01:17 PM

I bet love island get seriously low, like 200k

aman201 13-06-2015 01:22 PM

Watched about 10 mins of that ****e.

Good grief, what a scatty show.

After she won a quarter of the audience was so disgusted to with giving her a pass to final..and Helen winning in generally..they swore to never watch BB again..So it i8s her fault:laugh:

It didnt put off people who watched the last CBB which was the highest rated one on C5, so that theory is false. Clearly most casual viewers really enjoyed bb15 as much as it got hate on this forum.

I was really surprised that in the lead up to this series, Channel 5 were posting loads of clips from last year on Facebook and there were LOADS of people saying that it had been their favourite series ever!

They're different shows.

They didn't. Hence the reason so many people were up in arms at the result that they even had to release the voting figures to prove it to be true.

The fact is, the shows ratings were down last year and are down again this year.

The celebrity series is a different kettle of fish. Firstly, the January show always does better and secondly, it depends on the housemates they've got.

They delete the posts that say it was the worst series ever.

Will. 13-06-2015 04:04 PM

Helen is an iconic housemates weather you like it or not, when i think of BB14 I think of Helen, Pauline and Ashleigh! BB14 would be terrible without her, it would be dull and boring!

Ratings for BB14 weren't even that bad lmao!

I agree.

But, I'm not going to bother arguing with her haters or Lostie!, for that matter. Who'd probably blame her for the September 11 attacks.

I think she's a big part of it. If you think what the ratings for secrets and lies were like (pushing 2m at times) and the fact that Ben Frow said he was happy with the ratings for Power Trip which did perform OK despite all the competition from the sport and look now...people were not happy with Helen. There was uproar to the point that Channel 5 were forced to release a lengthy statement detailing the voting numbers for the entire of the final night because so many people cried fix.
This year has had sod all competition for the most part. Yes it was on earlier in the year, but if people doing GCSEs were really the issue, the officials would be adding a LOT more onto the overnights than they currently are.
