It’s a fairly simple concept .. % wise there may be fewer serious cases and/or deaths BUT with 150, 000 new infections each day there are gonna be huge numbers requiring hospital treatment .

the numbers in hospital with omicron are tiny (less than 200) against the massive infection rate. Of that number in hospital we dont even know the reason for them being in hospital, most may not be omicron induced. Of those that are in hospital because of omicron, what % were boostered. Under any circumstance, its unlikely that figure is more than a handful

Thats not making things up, its looking at actual numbers in hospital as a baseline.

Do you actually personally know anyone who works in an NHS hospital? Particularly, in and A&E or ICU?

they call LBC and Talkradio pretty much daily. WHole shows are dedicated to "call in if you work for the NHS"(Particularly, in and A&E or ICU). In fact Andrew Castle did that very show yesterday. And I dont think over the last 2 years has a job been more scrutinised and in the news than A & E and ICU.

Netherlands: GGD cautions getting booster jabs abroad, just wait in line in own country

The GGD strongly advised not to get Covid-19 booster vaccinations across the border. It could cause problems when registering in the CoronaCheck app, a spokeswoman for the umbrella organization GGD GHOR Netherlands said.

Anyone who gets their booster shot in Germany will not get a certificate in the CoronaCheck App. After a booster shot abroad, you can only receive a paper access pass, not a Digital Corona Certificate to travel. A digital certificate can only be given by the European country where the booster shot was given, a GGD spokesperson said.

"To avoid disappointment, we advise people to have themselves vaccinated in the Netherlands," the spokesperson said. "The booster campaign is going very fast in the Netherlands and does not cause any problems afterward when registering in the CoronaCheck app."

It was unclear how many Dutch people had already obtained a booster shot abroad. The vaccination rate in Vaals, near the German border, is 20 percent higher than the national average of vaccinations administered in Germany.

Many Dutch people attended a vaccination marathon this weekend in Duisburg, not far from Venlo.

Anyone who had a Covid-19 vaccination in the Netherlands will receive a nationally and internationally valid QR code in the CoronaCheck app. The booster shot can be obtained three months after the last vaccination or recovery from Covid-19. The goal is for all adults who want a booster shot to receive one by the end of January.

We’re only two or three weeks into the Omicron wave though .. nobody knows what’s gonna happen and there lies the problem.

I listen to LBC , BBC 5 and TalkRadio/ TalkSport ... the thing is there’s no guarantee they are who/what they say they are - it’s just a voice who could be anyone and they do occasionally get caught out by the radio host and just hang up ..

Now there are so many Covid deniers ( who are far more determined/convinced than the ones like myself ) who just listen to the two medical guys ... Chris Whitty and Patrick Vallance

Those deniers / conspiracy theorists will say anything to undermine the official line .


I’ll take anything said by Chris and Patrick over everything spouted out by crazy conspiracy theorists .

you will note that the countries with the most testing have the steepest rises in infection, that's no coincidence, japan does next to no testing and has a flat line.

I like this guy and subscribe to his channel - I will still feel happier if things are no worse in a month’s time .
It’s interesting to see what he says about the fabulously high uk immunity levels [at around 8:10] thanks to Boris’s vaccine program ..

Note the increased hospitalisations in London [at around 13:34 ].. which will probably occur everywhere else in the uk - that’s my concern albeit unknown.
He kinda plays DOWN the rise in hospital cases in the last few days ( in London ) when it’s clearly quite a dramatic increase. I’m not sure why he does this though ..
