I loved Ultros.

Novo 08-11-2010 09:57 PM

I have now got all my characters back and in the Zone eaters belly right now.. where you need to go to get Gogo

Tom4784 09-11-2010 04:59 PM

I remember him/her. Never used that character much though.

Novo 09-11-2010 05:29 PM

Hate the Ninja's that use " disappear " all the time.. :bored:

Tom4784 09-11-2010 07:57 PM

They were annoying, have you done the mage tower place yet? That place is a pain.

Not yet

going to try and finish all the sidequests tonight

VI's load times from the PSX disc are downright scary for such a primitive looking game. I really wish they would make it - and all the others - downloadable. We are years into the current console generation now. Entire series worth of classic games should be on tap!

Novo 16-11-2010 11:41 PM

I'll probably finish FFVI later on today or even tonight

Tom4784 16-11-2010 11:58 PM

I'm surprised they haven't remade FFV & VI for the DS yet given that they already have with III & IV. Then again they might be waiting for the 3DS.

Novo 17-11-2010 11:28 PM

That forest with the Dinosaurs in.. easily the best place to level up in the game

Tom4784 17-11-2010 11:30 PM

Have you ever played Chrono Trigger? Great game, it's basically made by the best members of the FF teams.

Yeah, I love Chrono Trigger.. the characters could have been a bit better.. only really liked Frog and Robo and obviously Magus when you get him.. he is a much better Villain though and Chrono get's better when you learn Luminare ( think that's what it was called ) bit like Ultima.

I think so, or it might be the opposite, I just remeber the boss being a swinebag.

Luminaire's beastly, It pretty much makes most bosses into jokes if you give all the magic capsules to Crono.

I loved Frog, Lucca & Magus. I've got it for my DS, I'm on my second playthrough getting all the extra endings. For a game that's like 15 or more years old it holds up incredibly well. A truly timeless game.

I recently completed it again for the first time in ages, Think i completed it at around level 60.. Lavos is to easy for a final boss IMO, the first time i completed it i had no idea that Magus could become a playable character.. think it was because i choose to fight him instead of choosing the other option when he is on the Cliff edge

Just completed the fanatics tower, the final boss is easy when you cast berserk on him.. he casts ultima right near the end though so you need Life3, the one which brings you back to life after you die

Yeah Lavos isn't really difficult, especially if you've taken the time to get the weapons and armour from the sidquests. Luminere + Flare + the third team member distributing ethers = a very dead boss. I fought Magus the first time too, He was quite easy considering you fight him with Frog only but luckily my battery conked out before I could save it so I chose not to fight him the second time to see what happened. He's a great character, although the lack of double/triple techs was disappointing but I suppose he needed a con as he was beastly at everything else.

I can remember being killed by Ultima I think in the tower, I hated that place but the relic you got for it was excellent.

There is no save point at the top of the tower either which makes it even worse if you do die because the battles leading up take ages... Yeah the Relic is the double spell one ain't learnt Ultima yet though and I forgot that you could upgrade the Ragnarok weapon.. and obviously upgrade the cursed shield as well.. think you need to win about 200 battles to upgrade that though

I never chose the Ragnarok as a sword, I always preferred the Esper.

I don't really use Esper's that much.. I don't like how you can only use an esper once per battle.. even though most of them don't do much damage at all and cost a fair bit of MP..

The Lightbringer

Beast of a sword!

Tom4784 23-11-2010 08:13 PM

There's been some more news about the Dissidia sequel, Vaan's in it (Boo, Ashe or Basch>). Apparently all the original characters are back as well as Lightning, Kain and Tifa and probably a few more.

Novo 23-11-2010 10:53 PM

good news about Kain and Tifa being in it, who was the main FFV character in Dissidia? can't remember now..

Bartz. I'm glad about Tifa too, and Lightning. She'll be a good character I think. It'll be interesting to see how many characters we get since I remember hearing that the original pushed the umd do it's limit. I'm guessing we'll get a FF11 villain and one or two more characters after that. I'd like Yuna & Vivi I think.

I'd like Rikku more then Yuna but it will more likely be Yuna, wouldn't mind Zell either.. his fighting style would suit Dissidia as well

The problem with Rikku & Zell would be that I think Tifa & Zidane pretty much cover their bases already. I'd like an FF8 character though as long as it's not Seifer as we already have Squall.
