(it somewhat worked in this case but it's only ever going to work if people already had a solid idea for a second option --- or if they were going to make that other choice regardless which may be what happened here)

Aurora finally out tho :clap1:

JerseyWins 09-05-2019 01:00 AM

That's pretty hilarious that someone is going to be returning from Extinction for the finale :joker:

Macie Lightfoot 09-05-2019 01:14 AM

That episode was atrocious and Rick is somehow even worse than Ben??? Ben at least clashed well with the others and had some merits to his game before like F7. Rick hardly ever votes correctly, insists upon how hard he is playing and how everyone else isn't playing hard, whines about how no one wants to work with him, and is still somehow being falsely heralded as a great player who deserves to win? I'm done trying to perform the mental gymnastics that Rick, his fans, and the show use to justify his inevitable win. It's just not worth my time or energy.

Jack_ 09-05-2019 01:22 AM

This season’s been alright but I can’t help but feel they should’ve brought someone else back from Extinction a few weeks back? I guess it’s good they made it last the whole season though rather than a pre-merge gimmick. If one of them makes the F3 it’ll be interesting to see what happens cause it’d certainly be an unconventional but by no means invalid pitch for the title

I'mma need David or Reem to come back, Devens to win if not pls

Macie Lightfoot 09-05-2019 03:21 AM

The more I let it settle, the more this episode pisses me off. It was seriously garbage, worst episode of the season by far. Rick's Idol was found just in a random pocket of a tree branch which is..... exactly how he found his Idol clue last week? His self-congratulatory monologues about how "I'm working harder than anyone else out here! They're sleeping but I'm working!" are legitimately harrowing and some of the most dire sentiments I've heard expressed on this show in a looooong time. He's rarely voted correctly, he's had almost everyone against him for the entire time, HE GOT VOTED OUT IN THE FOURTH EPISODE, and he's never actually carried out a strategic plan that went his way from what I can remember. Maybe you can count the Chris boot as something that went his way, but then it sent him packing next week so who cares. It's just starting to reach that point where the values the show is pushing forth are diametrically opposed to my personal values in watching the show, and we are celebrating someone whose only strategy is "finding" Idols, using them, and then immediately refinding them. That is not Survivor, it's a glorified scavenger hunt.

hey guys,

should I watch this season or David vs Goliath first? Need to catch up with both.

DvG is a legitimately good and fun character study for the most part, while EoE is like... a really really REALLY bad ORG come to life that somehow doesn't entirely fall apart until like episode 10 or 11. DvG is Good and EoE is Okay, but ultimately both shows suffer from the fact that the game has degraded into a revolving door of Idol finds and Advantage scavenger hunts every damn episode. There's no integrity to the game, there's no strategic merit for winning Survivor, and there's really not much strategic or social skill involved anymore. It's pretty much turned into BBUS on an island.

This was the worst episode of the season. Ben's win in HvHvH was BS and Devens win in this will be too.

Wizard. 09-05-2019 10:43 AM

So Devens is guaranteed final 4? Although if someone is returning idk how that will work, unless it's like a replacement thing. I would scream if Aurora returns and eliminates Devens

Wizard. 09-05-2019 10:48 AM

At least my good sis Lauren has an idol just dont know how anyone can win against Rick because he loves showing off at tribal and the edge of exstinktion lap it up.

reece(: 09-05-2019 10:49 AM

I'm ova this season at this point

Headie 09-05-2019 02:30 PM

I hate that they were going to vote out Aurora anyway but now with Rick copying Mike's move from S30 it makes it look like he caused them to flip

If he wins I honestly don't know which win will be more BS, his or Ben's.

reece(: 09-05-2019 02:40 PM

Rigged Devins has singlehandedly ruined this season

Donovan. 09-05-2019 03:26 PM

I'm really hoping Lauren's seemingly throwaway line from a few eps back actually has some pay off. She said something like, "my dad's gonna be so proud of my fire making skills!" As soon as I heard her say that, I just saw her winning the f4 fire making challenge, hopefully against Devins, because his messy theatrics are boring af. I'd much rather see a quietly and well executed plan than that trash.

Also Aurora:(

Headie 09-05-2019 03:35 PM

Lauren lost ha chance of winning when Wentworth blabbed to the EOE returnees that she had the idol

I'm honestly fine with anyone other than Devens winning at this point. Victoria is probably my top choice.

The tribal played out largely as I suspected it would, somehow it was predictable what Devins plan would be soon after he found the idol, it was just a matter of whether they would be swayed by him or not. I even thought about someone from Extinction coming back evening up the numbers. Looking back at the edit there was plenty about alternative targets so that suggested things would veer from what seemed likely at the start, so that was probably in the back of my mind as well.

I did think of Ben when he found another idol straight away, yet I didn't mind it as it made the show more interesting (just like I didn't mind Ben really).

I thought he would try it (it's been done before), but he could also have got it verified by Probst to emphasise it even more.

Wizard. 09-05-2019 07:28 PM

well wouldn't it be a coincidence of Devins wins because of idols and their upcoming season surrounds idols.

starry 11-05-2019 11:06 AM

The letters to self are a new variation on 'loved ones' letters so I hope it's a one off, it felt even more fake.

That is...... an opinion, to say the least.

Wizard. 15-05-2019 09:07 AM

Perching for a Lauren/Victoria/Reem win although it is definitely Rick or Gavin. Gavin is basically Nick from DvG and Rick is honestly horrible.

Jack_ 16-05-2019 12:03 AM

Probst dressed like he’s just left the gym

Headie 16-05-2019 12:04 AM

Well here goes nothing... praying we don't get a Ben 2.0

Headie 16-05-2019 12:06 AM

Bye what happened to Aubry's advantage

Headie 16-05-2019 12:07 AM

David's sprint I-

Headie 16-05-2019 12:08 AM

Ahhh Aurora legend <3 Comp queen better win!
