Ipswich have agreed a fee with Sunderland for midfielder Grant Leadbitter, skysports.com reports.

Leadbitter's representative, Matthew Buck of the PFA, has confirmed they have been given permission to open talks with Ipswich.

"A fee has been agreed between Sunderland and Ipswich for Grant and we have been given permission to open talks with Ipswich," Buck told skysports.com.

"We are heading down for talks now and we will see what happens."

Spartak Moscow have offered to pay Tottenham £10million to bring Roman Pavlyuchenko back to Russia.

The out of favour striker fears for his Russian World Cup place should he not be playing regularly.

"We need a good striker," said Spartak coach Valery Karpin. "It's a bit too much. If the price was £10million we would seriously consider it."

The possible departure of Roman Pavlyuchenko has led to reports that Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp could turn his attention to out of favour Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy.

The former Manchester United striker is available as Madrid look to trim their squad.

Spurs enquired about the 33 year old in June but the Dutchman's £90,000-a-week wage demands put a stop to further talks.

The Spanish giants are looking for a fee of around £6m.
