I think the standards have been excellent throughout, but I'd go for Supremacy myself. It has the most heart and a really great narrative that deals with guilt and forgiveness.... Bourne goes on a real moral journey in it.

I, Robot last night on E4. Great film.

I watched Basic Instinct just for the craic - no, not that crack - becuz I haven't seen in for ages and was curious to see if it's graphic depiction of sexuality still possessed any power. In truth, it's rather tame now in comparison to what has followed in film and in mainstream culture over the last decade or more and what you're left with is just a well made, glossy piece of thrash. Soundtrack is killer though.

Recently watched a little known US TV movie from about 12 years ago called Dead Husbands, starring Nicolette Sheridan (Desperate Housewives) the late John Ritter. In a nutshell, it's about a group of wives who scheme to get their husbands killed one by one depending on where their husband stands on the waiting list.

It has the feel of a surreal, black comedy not dissimilar to Death Becomes Her without the fantasy elements or special effects.

The script, soundtrack and acting are high quality and have no right to be this good for low-budget fare. However, what lets Dead Husbands down a little bit is the convoluted storyline, plodding, uneven pacing and stagey, uninspired direction. Don't let that put you off though. This is really more than worth checking out if you still have a video cassette recorder and don't mind going to the trouble of getting hold of a copy,

High Fidelity - such an excellent film.

Wanted - Ridiculous, disposable action flick that I've already forgotten and I'm only after watching it. Silly stuff. McAvoy elevates it somewhat though by his presence alone.

I enjoyed the ridiculousness of it and found McAvoy to be its only let-down, haha, I hated his constant screaming to begin with.

Fatal Attraction.

Noone has ever played the bunny boiler character better than Glenn Close in that film imo.

It's was pure silliness, which I didn't really mind so much, but I'll never watch it again, you know that way? Actually I thought McAvoy was great in it: was searching my mind to think of anyone else who could have pulled it off. Anyone else would have made it totally stupid - he's a good little actor. Could you imagine Anakin Skywalker in it or something? The horror!

Synecdoche, New York. - Wont be to everyones tastes, with it's twisting of narrative and timeline, plus it's frustating and oftentimes bewildering experimentation with the medium, but in my view this hugely personal and inventive exploration of what is is to be human is an existential masterpiece.

I think I saw Wanted about a year ago. I won't say what I think of James McAvoy (not a fan), but it was one of the most grossly unpleasant and boring action movies I've seen in recent times. I wouldn't have minded the fact that the lead character was so unlikeable if he had any charisma.

It was fairly rubbish alright, but I have to disagree with you on McAvoy - he was the only thing that kept me interested in the whole exercise. That's not saying much though!

The Proposal

Ice Age

Never seen any of the three films, so I thought I'd give them a go. My god, it was just terrible. Simply incomparable to any Pixar classics. I think I'll skip the next two.

The Hangover - Can somebody please tell me why this received such great reviews?
