Yes, a larger amount infected
but many could be the milder Omicron Variant, of course

We need Delta amounts
and Omicron Amounts

Ch4HDnews stated the numbers are incomplete

the faster people are infected, the quicker things will return to normal. This will be over by mid january

But there is a major problem
in the World. So many have not had a Vaccine,
and that's how they say more
Variants will appear.

bots 28-12-2021 05:55 PM

we need variants so that it becomes less dangerous and we will never stop variants ever, thats a fact. Anything that takes over now will need to infect quicker than omicron. We are nearing the end of covid being a serious threat

arista 28-12-2021 05:59 PM

From SkyNewsHD
a Pub Owner,
in Wales, said many will now Cross the Bridge and go to a Bristol Pub.

Hopefully that’s correct ... some experts agree whilst others have suggested that we may have to ‘cope’ with some form or other for the next 10 years.

Who’s to say the next but one variant Isn’t going to be more virulent AND more deadly ??

Nobody really knows .. it’s the uncertainty that’s the problem for many people

The problem is that even if they are the omicron variant which may or may not be milder there is still the chance of a huge number of hospitalisations ...

For arguments sake ... if 10 % of Delta need hospitalisations whilst only 2% of Omicron need hospital treatment BUT there’s 10 times more infections (130,000 just today ) then that’s still double the ACTUAL number of people taking up hospital beds .

The latter is scaremongering from the experts imo.

The more likely outcome is what BOTS has mentioned.

But we don’t know for sure how this variant is gonna play out . The first stats for it were apparently 11/12/21 which is just over two weeks ago ..

The data the government have been looking at was based on just 132 Omicron patients which is bollox imho

the time to hospitalisation with omicron is apparently 5 days, much faster than delta. Everything is compressed, infection time, severity and time to hospitalisation. So we actually have plenty evidence. The number of omicron patients in hospital is now just over 200, 30% of those were admitted for something other than covid

The number of patients requiring oxygen, the important stat, is going down, and the overwhelming majority of those are patients with delta

My mum's tested positive I'm now isolating until next Friday new year has been cancelled for our family

So 200 is a tiny number to be basing decisions on imho
