I think getting 1m on a Saturday is decent for the series, after it logged only 1.6m for it's 2nd launch, I would have thought that it would have gone to around 700k at this point on a Saturday against World Cup.
It's an extremely solid performer, very static, 900k-1m for Saturdays, 1.2-1.4m for highlights/evictions. No more, no less. From DS: Friday Channel 5 21:00 - Big Brother - Live Eviction: 1.29m (6.6%) 22:35 - Big Brother's Bit on the Side: 0.69m (5.0%) 23:35 - Stand by Your Man: 0.21m (2.5%) Saturday Channel 5 21:00 - Big Brother: 1.00m (4.8%) You can't really complain if compared to other shows, look at Stand by your Man  |

How much did you think it got? lol Its not doing to bad actually this series its about 300/400k behind BB not bad when its not even on a proper channel. The day TOWIE beats BB is the day BB dies for me. Sunday 22nd: TOWIE 920,000 including +1 Sunday 22nd: Big Brother: 1.3 including +1million Wednesday 25th: TOWIE: 771,000 including +1 Wednesday 25th: Big Brother : 1.1 million including +1 |

Is a sad site to see looking at the eviction ratings though I don't think we expected these 1.0/1.2 and under and Sunday shows are really not up to the usual standard but are proving the highest performing day on +1. |

And with the 1.29m and 1.30m, not too sure, maybe there was a difference of being tapechecked so 1.30m could be the actual rating. |
If the scrapped stand by your man and replaced it from live from the house they could get 700k-1.0m in raitings, when will silly channel 5 learn.

I remember during CBB9, Live Feed was hitting 1m on 5*! I think one of them became the highest 5* rating of all time. |
also Agree look what Live feed got last Monday officially BIG BROTHER: LIVE FROM THE HOUSE (MON 2203) 1.18

It wouldn't surprise me if Stand by Your Man did get 21,000 tbh.
I tried watching it and god it was awful. A Take Me Out post-watershed style show was never going to work. C5 would get far higher viewers by having live in the house showing instead! |
Live from the house would prove so much more successful, and I imagine a lot cheaper too.. Plus have you seen the recent highlights shows.. Most of the drama seems to happen after 11.. So it'd make a lot of sense! But we're all aware of C5 now.. They're stupid and definitely do not consider sticking with what they know! Oh well.. Guess it's their fault! Perhaps Viacom will be a little more structured and spend a lot of time researching the shows it airs or plans to air! Family Guy on BBC Three usually hits around 500K at the same time as stand by your man, it often hits around 6-8% in shares! Put it this way. Stand by your Man has no proper place. It failed in a good slot, it failed in a bad slot! I'd have much prefered that Celebrity Super Spa show.. Failing that.. MORE BB!

It's not bad in comparison at all taking into consideration the World CuP this year and the fact there was no sport competition last year really.

Here are the officials, some include +1, some don't.
Monday- 1.66m excl +1 Tuesday- 1.49m excl +1 Wednesday- 1.65m excl +1 Thursday- 1.65m incl +1 Friday- 1.52m incl +1 Saturday- 1.28m incl +1 Sunday- 1.58m incl +1 OK figures for BB, looks like an official of 1.6m like BB12 and BB13 if it stays like this, annoying that the Monday and Weds would have gotten 1.7m+ with +1. |
I'd go as far as to say the ratings are pretty good! Yes a drop of 200K isn't necessarily positive, but a drop of 200K is much better than a more substantial drop, for example the switch from BB on C4 and BB on C5 which lost 1.4 MILLION viewers! Plus the fact that 200K is so little in comparison is very good. You can never expect ratings to be on par, or to grow, year on year, it's all down to influence, competition, weather, housemates, theme, design, schedule, and a whole lot more!
And with high retentions in terms of catch-up, demand services etc. It's clear BB still has a very large following! I'm hoping tonight scores well once again.. with the benefits documentary behind it, it appears as though Channel 5 are successful with their monday nights! It's perhaps one of the few days I ONLY watch Channel 5 from around 8-12! |
We should also point out, that although many believe the lack of 'good' ratings are to do with this year's theme, HM, etc. It should be worth mentioning the fact that there are perhaps shows that are just a little better, it's not to say this one show is bad due to low ratings, when taking the official ratings into account it appears that many still like to watch the show, but prefer to do so in their own time (which could provide good evidence for any possibility of live feed!)
|
Agree about Mondays, it used to be the lowest rated day along with Saturday in the Ch4 years, now in the last couple of series, it has been the highest. Ch5 Mondays are really coming together IMO.
|
Oooh, we have +1 for the first three days now, so altogether.
Monday- 1.77m incl +1 Tuesday- 1.59m incl +1 Wednesday- 1.73m incl +1 Thursday- 1.65m incl +1 Friday- 1.52m incl +1 Saturday- 1.28m incl +1 Sunday- 1.58m incl +1 Great figures for Wednesday and Monday especially. |
