Oh oh, likely get hammered for this one being only 19 but currently I am crazy for really old songs and have been listening to the Ultimate Collection by Petula Clark, briliant voice this lady had/has as I believe she is still going strong doing tours at 79.

Love the songs on this cd, Round Every Corner,I couldn't live without your love,of course Downtown too. great lyrics and she has a very optimistic voice.Have fallen in love with Petula I think.

I like a bit of Petula too Joey.

I've gone crazy for her work, bought loads of CDs of hers,however she seems to have made hundreds.it's going to cost me a fortune :joker:. I just really love her voice totally,the way she styles a song too with her own interpetration of it.

'Don't sleep in the subway' is a masterpiece.It's like 3 songs in one cleverly interwoven, An amazing voice she has for sure.

I mean I knew of her before, My Grandmother used to always sing 'Downtown' to me so it's always been a favourite song of mine but now as I find more of her recordings the sheer class just shines though in her performances.
