I mean cool yeah fine have Halloween, watch scary stuff, but trick or treating is the bane of my life, just get your kids their own candy and keep them inside, stop bothering other people, some of which are the older generation who will probably have the life frightened out of them with all the people knocking at their door

...they don't knock at older people's doors here, they only go to people who leave out a pumpkin or decorations, which is much better...they're usually with their parents as well, we don't really get any older children...it would be awful to knock on some of the older one's doors, they would be really frightened...and probably end up in hospital...

I visited Sheffield uni today, I hate having Dilema's

I liked it, but I preferred Reading which is why I'm stuck in a pridicament.

Because Sheffield is a Russel Group top 20 university, Reading is more like a top 25 uni. Sheffield is world renowned for Biological sciences & is a slightly better Uni than Reading. Also Sheffield is cheaper than reading, and I preferred the actual Zoology course at Sheffield than to Reading. However the Reading campus was just perfect, the accomodation was perfect & the feel was great. I love how the accomodation is on the campus, so everyone is at at Uni & there would be a lot going on at once, whereas Sheffield the Accomodation is 20m from the Uni, so the student Union & student Bar are not that accessible.

So I really don't know what to do? Should I go for the course, what I'm paying for. Or for my happiness even though the course does not look as interesting and I'll have less chocies + the uni is a little less renowned.

...hmmm, ok I think you probably should talk to your parents about it all but the decision has to be yours, Jack...if you went to Sheffield and the course is perfect but you were generally unhappy in other ways...would that course make you happier..?..you're at uni for quite a long time, Jack..happiness/social life is very important..an extremely high priority...maybe some time in the future, in retrospect..you'll think that 3/4 years was just a moment but you won't be looking back, Jack..you'll be in the present and living it and especially if you're not happy...it will seem endless...and not a good endless at all...will you really do well on your course if that was to happen..?...will that better uni then have been the right choice..?...

...and will a future employer think too much about the fact that you went to Reading and not Sheffield unless they had someone else who did go to Sheffield, maybe..and they had to decide between the two...but that's just a hypothetical, Jack and you can't live your life/make important decisions about your present and your happiness based on hypotheticals.....

..but yeah, talk to your parents, Jack..they know you best, they love you best and they'll help you with the decision...

That's the best way to be. I find if I plan something things never turn out as I expected but if I go with the flow it's much better

..yeah, I think in general, we are quite a disorganised family..(although my OH does try to plan things meticulously sometimes ..)..but somehow we always seem to have fun..I think I just hate that thing of feeling I have to be somewhere at a certain time...but I like that structure in my working life...

...I imagine that Matthew is going to be really excited about his Halloween plans....:love:...it's great having little people...
