Man, I felt so bad for Derren! Still, it proved this one was a legit system using his genuinely gifted brain, as opposed to a giant compass under the table being controlled by the ghost of Houdini theory.
|
The Events have been really really really ****
|
or maybe he failed on purpose/always going to fail so that people will think hes been legit with real methods all the way through?

Somebody mentioned this on another forum, and to be honest, I think the embarrassment of failing on national television outweighs any possible gain. But it's an interesting theory. In fact, with the exception of that fail, the entire shark jump of a series should have been shown in reverse order. The stunts were far too un-Derren like, and with there ambition carried a far higher ratio of possible failure, and with it a harder time suspending ones disbelief. Half hour shows of him generally scaring people shitless on busy streets, and his stage shows, are Derren at his best. |
Well he done his job, everyones talking about him. must of earned a fortune.
|
I really would like to see more of him on Channel 4. He could work on numerous Darwin-esque shows, and a series where he debunks the paranormal is not hard to imagine. He is a fascinating character.
It's also worth mentioning, as a final insult to injury, that this piece of television blended suggestion, hypnosis, misdirection and ... Tim Westwood. Innit. |
ugh tim westwood. total knob
he comes from my town too apparently, massive fail and it shows he puts on his stupid accent cause we don't talk like that here! lol |

Despite failing, it turned out to be more impressive for me. Had he hit the 8, by today there would have been a bunch of theories of how he did it and it all being fake etc. Something interesting somebody mentioned was when he exchanged for chips, he asked for "10 x 500's", where could he have been for the currency to match up to 5000 pounds? |
Derren is still a legend and I would love to see him live in theatre!
|
He was gutted, pretty much speechless when he failed.
|
Derren failing was the best tv moment this year
|
I felt so sorry for him :/
bless. i still love derren(: |
